In the context of this deplorable situation with the #EAA, I cannot support participation in the forthcoming Athens conference.

I urge all archaeologists around the world, from students to professors, amateurs and professionals, to #boycottEAA

I've had 36 published with a few publishers and self-published, but I have about 60 that I have put away due to no interest from publishers and readers, and no time to finish them.
Hey authors -- I'm curious. For various reasons, we usually only see the highlight reals on social media, but how many novels have you trunked over your career? Especially post first published book?

The absurdity of universities trying to 'woo' an avowedly anti-intellectual party. One that considers education to be a liability. One whose other policies run counter to all understanding that the last 50 years of research has established.
One that will crush them as a spectacle for their voters.
'Reform is thought to be increasing its engagement with all sectors as it prepares a detailed manifesto, with advocacy groups – including those representing universities – told to submit their key points to the party’s growing policy team.'
Universities try to woo Reform as party gains ground
Serious lobbying efforts under way, with right-wing party expected to be more sympathetic to elite universities than rest of the sector

I hadn't heard from any of the abused before on coverage of Epstein. I hadn't gone looking, but the general coverage is quite 'technical' and 'legal' in tone.

Why aren't people sharing this stuff everywhere? It's not about documents, it's about peoples' lives!

The 450,000 objects were uncovered & recorded as part of well planned & meticulous excavations. They are linked to records of the contexts they were found in. Because of this, they will contribute to a substantial new body of understanding about England & its pasts from a 10 yr research programme.
'The 450,000 objects, which are being held in a secret warehouse, include a possible Roman gladiator's tag, a hand axe that may be more than 40,000 years old and 19th Century gold dentures.'
Treasures found on HS2 route stored in secret warehouse
Archaeological finds from the planned HS2 train line have been shown exclusively to the BBC.

Breaking News: Spain issued a decree allowing hundreds of thousands of undocumented migrants to apply for legal residency. The measure is bucking a trend, as many Western governments have cracked down on illegal immigration.

I have accidentally seen far too many people being shot dead in real life in the past few months.

Leonard Nimoy was more than a colleague—he was a friend, an ally, and my political soulmate. Leonard played a half-human, half-Vulcan officer—a being caught between two worlds. Yet in his own life, he was perhaps the most profoundly human person I have ever known.

There was talk in the '90s and early 2000s of the US fearing loss of power and loss of status as the superpower.

Trump is an embodiment of all of that fear combined with pseudo memory of demonism, D&D and the notion that killers & insane people are flooding the US as portrayed in Scarface.
