Yeah it’s either hard US security guarantees real enough for Ukraine to trust them (would take way more than trust me bro, boots on the ground or close to it), or yet another token promise which Ukraine / Europe will obviously reject.
One reason (of several) I'm sceptical of the Witkoff deal is that it's apparently contingent on independent US security guarantees and that's such a colossal reversal of US policy that I struggle to see how it survives contact with political reality.

Russian interference in European and American politics is very serious but is not being taken seriously enough. Russia's threat really goes beyond the battlefields, the West must shift from a reactive to a proactive approach and face the beast.

That's the problem of social media and their algorithms. People are seeing entirely different things and aren't aware of what others are seeing. It used to be people would read the same papers, watch the same TV channels, and they consciously made those decisions.
