I log in thinking, “If I’m not posting today, I’ll at least share accounts of Russia’s attacks…”
And as I do, I realize: I can’t keep up. There’s too much. Every day. I can share a fraction, but never all of it. The scope of destruction caused by Russia is almost impossible to grasp—it’s that vast.
Russians commit war crimes, then go write books about “how actually sad it is to kill” and songs asking “what will happen to our homeland and to us?” and the average Western citizen, tangled in imperial past, future sold out by elites, finds all that defeatist melancholy vibe “deep” and “relatable”…

Maybe it’s worth repeating: if the political goal is to prevent pro-Russian parties from gaining power, the best way to do that is to help Ukraine defeat Russia. Without Russian funding, there’s no propaganda machine churn and no political foothold.
Everything else is just talk.

Many countries use Ukraine as a living shield between themselves and a murderer whose gas they can’t wean off of, helping us just enough to make us their buffer but never enough to win, and one must be deeply ignorant or truly evil to tell us how “it’s akchually a privilege.”

One day your ally can promise to come to your aid if you’re attacked, the next election cycle they can turn 180. It’s the political environment shaped by autocrats’ influence. Those who care about the free world should help Ukraine win the battles still winnable today, not rely on uncertain future.

“Europe just needs to outlast Russia.”

My heart sinks every time a thoughtful, well-meaning voice suggests this. Outlasting Russia at the cost of Ukrainian children, when Europe can help Ukraine defeat it, is a cruel, needless, reckless gamble with no good forecast to pay off.

A murderous drone swarm is slowly creeping in, already in Kyiv region, so they will be in the city soon enough.

There is a high chance of a combined massive attack too, tonight or tomorrow, soon. We just have to sit here and wait for another night of terror as Europe sleeps.

Sometimes I remember that top intelligence services in Europe and overseas knew about Russia’s kill lists and mobile crematoria in 2022. Those who could arm Ukraine to win offered guerrilla war support.
Every fighting day is a chance to do better I still hope for them to take.

Helping Ukraine win today is still Europe’s best option to avoid fighting Russia tomorrow.

I want to believe that people in Europe at least sense that something terrible is approaching, but simply cannot clearly see that it’s Russia and its war, because for many years politicians and mainstream media haven’t framed it with the clarity it deserves.

I think right now more than before the safety of Europe depends on Ukraine’s victory more than on any treaty or promise or plan that tries to round it. Nothing will protect Europe from a Russia that isn’t stopped in Ukraine.

There are better and more honest ways to communicate the idea that Russia can be defeated if more countries commit enough will and resources to it than repeating “time is not on Russia’s side.” That phrase ignores the reality that time is bought with Ukrainians’ lives.

Any leadership that does not prioritize Ukraine’s victory is, in practice, helping Russia achieve its goals. Simple as that.

If Russia were rendered unable to attack other countries, it would cease to exist as the omnidestructive, Kremlin-run state we know. Yet, for reasons difficult to justify, too many political leaders in Europe still seem to be weary of this Russia’s collapse more than of its aggression.
