“Unknown technology”

Bc the time window to even still have the option make that choice, and cut Russia’s funds to all its foreign propaganda and proxies by helping Ukraine defeating it, is bough by lives of Ukrainian defenders and civilians, little children, who take Russia’s fire on themselves for now. It’s inhumane…

Russia will keep worsening Europe’s social and political climate and weaponize people’s fears of “escalation” in absence of understanding that what should scare them is Russia’s prolonged existence. The choice to apply adequate resources to defeating it is hard but still less risky and less ghoulish

It’s a sad picture and the direct result of Russia not being incapacitated fast enough; since at the very least after the Munich Security Conf 2007, but best in early 90s, when Lennart Meri has been warning against its resourcing imerialism

The pressure is real, but portioning support for Ukraine will not stop pro-Russian forces from rising. On the very contrary: Russia thrives when democracies hold back strength. The longer Ukraine is under-equipped, the more influence Russia gains across Europe, simply because it’s still functional.

Ukraine has to think in terms like “outlasting” while under-equipped and losing a generation to war. But for European leaders, sitting on vast shared resources that Russia is actively destroying, trying to outlast Russia behind Ukraine’s back – this should be seen as complicity.

Russia has less resources but uses them liberally and effectively: scaling cheap tech, corrupting more cheap politicians abroad, increasing cheap propaganda, sending waves of cheap human lives into battle. As of now Europe isn’t outlasting any of that. It’s mismanaging its own resources.

Probably not.. or at least I would not count on it too much and would not advise others to; makes me respect ten times as much what our diplomats manage to pull off sometimes: how they secure any aid from allies who would clearly have it easier if Ukraine simply fell is nothing short of remarkable

With everything happening, globally and personally, I don’t have many positive thoughts or hopes left. But I am still glad I expect some decency from certain leaders. I expect none from countries like Russia, and it would be a bleak sign if that kind of apathy started spreading.

It’s not possible that people can just live their lives and think everything will be alright somehow, “no fuss”…
Or is it?
Because if it is, it’s all really a bleak question of when, rather than if.
Supporting Ukraine as a shield won’t last.
