In the wake of Prop Q failing, #atxcouncil shd eliminate the next police cadet class and divert the $ to APD's deferred maintenance list. State law won't let them *cut* the police budget, but they can and MUST stop ballooning it in budget busting ways. Not ideal, but it's what the voters demanded.

My politics are “Tax the rich.” Apparently this idea is growing in popularity, and is being put to test in the NYC mayor’s race. In this context, Prop Q in Austin feels a little cursed.
