SFFH author and musician. Ostensibly some sort of photographer now. Picked the worst time to get a librarianship degree but somehow it worked out.
When I am supreme leader I will begin a program to humanely euthanize all avid readers of cozy christmas themed fiction or James Patterson

I love interacting with white suburbia, where me saying I take the bus to work is met with the kind of reaction normally reserved for the announcement of a terminal illness

i think if you want to have those disgusting LED headlights on your car, you should have to do a test where they blast you point blank with your own headlights and then you have 15 seconds to successfully complete some sort of vision-based task, and if you can't do it they push your car off a cliff

It’s probably bad that this has thousands of like, right? Like it’s concerning that somebody is saying they believe griffins “still exist somewhere” and people are agreeing. That’s bad right

I find the relentless sanitization of "cozy" everything to be related to the use of A/I. One is outsourcing all thinking, the other is removing the possibility of thinking.

Obviously I agree with everything here about "Cozy" fiction sanitizing the real world, but the point about the TSA created in the shadow of the war on terror stands out especially. Declare seems to revel in not knowing or caring about the past, which is exactly the scary part of "Cozyfying" reality
still thinking about this article today. so many societal ills are caused by people white-washing what actually happens. it's awful to see games do it too.

can't wait for cozy domestic violence simulator or cozy kkk simulator
a wholesome plane has hit the second cozy tower
more like no thoughts to declare

The thing that makes Star Trek utopian isn’t the end of scarcity or the harmony between all peoples it’s also that the guy on the ship who gets laid the most plays the trombone at work and periodically does community theater

The audacity of people who pretend that everything that's going on now came down to a vote is astonishing. It ignores the culpability of BOTH parties in setting the precedents currently being weaponized by fascism. It's like nothing ever happened, and all was well with the world before 2025.

I'm playing bass for sound of music ALL WEEK and while overall I think it's held up pretty well, if I went to a party and this rich fucker had his battalion of children sing and dance and I had to watch and be polite I would later come back and chuck pipe bombs into that mansion

I like how the news will be like “while the President claiming Portland was ruled by a giant skeleton named Mr Nibbles is not strictly true, it does speak to the anxiety of many Americans”

If you continue to support the Harry Potter franchise in any way, you are directly funding the removal of trans people's human rights in the UK.

I really wish the office for intellectual freedom wasn't so enamored with this fence sitting both sides bullshit as if there wasn't currently a coordinated effort from rightwing groups like moms for liberty and the like to completely gut the ability for anyone to freely access information and lit

People who shrieked at me for criticizing Obama at "a time like this": if you can't see the direct line running from Bush through Obama to this then you are not fit to comment on breakfast, let alone people's political posts.
Four more people were killed this morning.

To repeat:

- If it can happen at sea, it can happen anywhere

- Trump has offered no definition or limiting principle for who can be labeled a "terrorist" and summarily killed

- And no plausible legal theory for why an armed conflict exists

IMO every publication and every publisher should have a clear statement about their generative AI policy. To dictate what is acceptable writer usage, yes, but also to declare their own usage (or lack thereof). Do they use it for slushreading, editing, illustration, correspondence?

Five years ago, @brandyzadrozny.bsky.social and I did a story about rural Oregon's fever dream that Antifa was coming to their town from Portland.

Hundreds showed up armed downtown because they heard on Facebook that "Antifa buses" were coming.

No buses came so they said Antifa "retreated."
In Klamath Falls, Oregon, victory declared over antifa, which never showed up
Towns from Washington state to Indiana have seen armed groups begin patrolling the streets after rumors spread on social media about an antifa invasion.
