There is no true love of space without love of this Earth and the life upon it. As we look up at the stars with awe, may we always extend our hands to one another in committed solidarity for the life and freedom of all who may be oppressed and downtrodden upon this world.

Better is possible.

Remembering dear Laquan McDonald (1997-2014) and all those battered and taken too soon by the State's agents of violent oppression. May injustice be crushed and equality and freedom be forged for all, by any means necessary.

His murderer, Officer Jason Van Dyke, was convicted of murder along with 16 conspirators in the coverup. Yet they got out years ago, serving reduced sentences. These same men likely serving ICE now for all we know.

There would be no ICE without the cops, who kill and kidnap numerous people a day.

Seeing all these blatant ICE killings, I can't help but think of how gutted I was to see the murder of Laquan McDonald in 2014. A disabled teen boy not much unlike my son, gunned down while they spun up a vast coverup that took years to untangle.

Just for walkin. For livin. All of this is America.

I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...

Hope doesn't find us. We make hope through action and struggle. It's a practice of living and is re-made daily.

At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.

just gonna throw out a quick reminder that in America police kill a yearly average of 3 civilians per day, routinely in situations very similar to these ICE killings, and decades of explicit support for police impunity by US politicians is why ICE feels theyre able to get away with this right now
Our government is murdering the citizens of this country. They are doing it without any checks on their violence

"I am a children's entertainer who specializes in face painting," writes a woman now in hiding from the federal government for witnessing a state-sanctioned street execution
You have to read this. Firsthand affidavit from one of the women who was there and recording the video. She talks about how Alex Pretti was directing traffic when she arrived. She watched him be killed in front of her. She's afraid to go home, worried she'll be arrested.

I truly understand the pleas for ICE to leave Minnesota. But leaving MN to go terrorize other states isn’t what anyone wants.

ICE/DHS is kidnapping and murdering people in the streets AND IN DETENTION CENTERS.

Abolishing ICE - and holding its leaders & agents accountable- is the absolute minimum.

they can't even fucking say how they feel anymore, not on bluesky, not anywhere. I'm so beyond disappointed in bluesky for how heavy-handed their moderation is, it isn't even just for explicit things, it's just for insinuation or even vibes

You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.
