5. This book is well-written, comprehensive, funny, encouraging… it’s still a lot to take in and I may need to get hold of a paper copy for reference. The more I hear the rhetoric about why we should roll over and let ICE just "do it", the more all the date rape and protect yourself warnings I was taught as a teenager run through my head.

I wish I could remember better what the constitutional law professor was saying about how there needs to be a trigger event by protestors to have legal grounds to invoke the Insurrection Act. I think he was saying that once that is invoke, it breaks wide open LOTS of unilateral presidential powers.

It looks like ICE shoved a woman which is what started things. The guy who was killed appears to try to stop ICE from pepper spraying her, they both got sprayed, and then shortly afterward they executed the guy.
