Primaries 👏 need 👏 ranked 👏 choice 👏 voting!

Under our current voting system, crowded primaries mean vote splitting, spoilers, and unrepresentative outcomes. With RCV, voters could rank candidates in order of preference instead of being forced to choose just one. Solved!

With as many as 18 candidates in the Democratic primary for IL-09, it is clear that Illinois desperately needs ranked choice voting for its primary elections. This race could theoretically be won by a candidate with as little as 5.56% of the vote due to vote splitting.

Ranked choice voting would move us beyond just having two choices when we go to vote. The way we currently vote is a critical road block to our ability to function as a country. In order to have consent of the governed, people must be able to have real choice in who their leaders are.
