Crazy week with the group ride, live event and a day trip to LA but I still made it to pilates
I counted up my watch history for all of 2025 and I did this same abdominal video routine 189 times.
Over the course of about six months, I watched & completed the same 15 minute abdominal exercise video 94 times. The same routine, the same repetitive movements, the same Youtube-approved free license background music (!!!), the same cheery intro message from the instructor. 94 times.

As they're really the only viable opposition party in local politics, in 2026 I want California's Democratic Socialists to dream bigger than banning Waymos and blocking gondolas.
Mamdani setting up a permitting reform and land inventory task force is some real sickos yes stuff.

I wore the same dress out tonight that I wore for NYE 2011, the new years after I graduated high school lol. Saved it all these years for the day it would fit again and it still looks good

Thanks to a series YIMBY reforms—and high-quality administration—in San Diego, the city has been in the midst of a building boom, even as construction has plummeted elsewhere. The result? Rents are down six months in a row. www.sandiegouniontribune.com/2025/12/17/s...
San Diego rents have fallen for 6 months. Should you ask your landlord for a deal?
San Diego rents are down 0.3% year-over-year to an average $2,520 per month.

The late summer ride on the 2 when I finally worked up the courage to introduce myself to Cute Bus Driver
inspired by @gravelinfluencer.bsky.social ... reply or quote with your best bus ride this year.

Mine was definitely the one where the guy was really intent on making sure I heard him complimenting my wallet. Other one was the mini-bus that took us around Sintra in Portugal.

Drinking outside in Entertainment Zones is now possible because we passed a law that gives cities the power to create these spaces. It is a simple way to support local businesses and bring more joy and connection to our streets.

Regular trips to UCSD also serve as a great reminder that California is so unbelievably beautiful

Semi-annual trips to UCSD always remind me that we can think bigger and build amazing things in San Diego if we want to

Caught the sunset at the Torrey Pines Glider Port. You ever see something so beautiful your whole body feels overwhelmed with euphoria and you start to cry

The year is 2035. California's entire base of taxation is young renters and their entire budget goes to insuring suburban McMansions built in fire hazard regions. Half of Florida is underwater financially and the other half literally. Illinois is fine but still fucks up transit funding constantly.

The wind is screaming, sky is dark and cloudy, looks like this winter storm is going to start pouring any minute. I step outside and it's warm? Very warm, like over 70? What is going on

Mom has been in and out of the hospital fighting a very sudden, serious illness for weeks and she's more worried about who's going to make the enchiladas and pozole for Christmas eve without her

The bar set by this FPPC nexus test requires anyone with a "foreseeable" source of income to recuse themselves from decisions. It should be turned around to toss realtors and consultants off planning and landmarking commissions.
In Santa Monica, the FPPC has disqualified pro-housing Councilmember Jesse Zwick from all future housing votes. They said that because he works for a housing non-profit, he’s “conflicted” and must recuse.

Pretty absurd. The NIMBY deep state strikes again.

I think on some level conservative NIMBYs oppose more housing because they dislike the idea of young people having more choices in how their lives are going to unfold
