Teen Vogue took young people seriously. It's impossible to overstate how important, how rare, and how profoundly needed that is.

Hello friends. Noem’s in town. Lots of kids were absent from school today. They’re afraid. I asked how we could help, and our MPS school suggested paid gift cards (Aldi, Walmart, or Cub).

Drop gift cards at your neighborhood school. Staff will get them to kids in need.

Take care of each other.

My folks live on a farm and are retired. My mom recently got an e-bike. She rode into town today to play cards with friends and called me when she got home. I can’t remember hearing her as genuinely happy as she was today. Blue sky, sun, and a bike ride. Magic.

Re-upping this one.
The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; and I am beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality.

If you have Amazon Prime and want to do something small to improve your day, watch The French Chef, Season 1, Episode 4. Learn to make an omelet from Julia Child (and enjoy her flubs). Breakfast game changer.

She is so smug. “Shooting is a pastime for we who live here.” She should take a look at what gun violence actually looks like in her utopia.

From 2018-2021, 73.1% of gun fatalities in Minnesota were suicides—and suicide rates in rural areas were 1.5 to 2 times higher than
urban areas.

Washed some windows, opened them up. Baked some brownies and banana muffins. This weather is going in a direction I like.

Small win - this Little Quickfire hydrangea is blooming for the first time. Can’t wait to see what the blooms do over the summer and fall.

"a bike is a tool of independence even before they’re old enough to drive. That independence, the ability to move freely, is a basic human right — and key to social participation.

But in Germany, as elsewhere, far too few children are riding bikes."

Why Fewer Children Are Learning To Ride A Bike
Despite being cheap, eco-friendly and empowering, the bicycle is losing ground among Germany’s youngest. Cities are not built for children, and cars are given priority. Together with parents’ fears an...
