you have found a very small snake and/or worm in your internet garden. this creature is likely doing important work for your local ecosystem that is very difficult to explain or notice. this is about pronouns.
I'm beginning to realize that when someone proudly presents an AI generated thing to the rest of us it's basically the same thing as a cat presenting a dead mouse

Zohran hits another one out of the park. I want the team behind these videos to travel the country, picking out stories and causes for all of us to cherish and fight for. But they gotta get Zohran elected first. Until it’s done. o7
UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

Learned that I am being laid off from Heart Machine, and will be leaving the studio later this month.

Do you need a contractor? I've got a track record of leading scope-friendly script revisions late in dev. I have also done a lot of consulting on new IPs and pitches/demos. Feel free to DM me!

not even close to a New Yorker, but damn if Zohran doesn’t manage to make me proud of that city anyway.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 3: Earl Manigault

When he stepped onto the court, the world watched. No one dunked harder or jumped higher. But the GOAT never made it pro.

There are countless NYC stories like his. Brilliant talents lost to drugs or crime. It doesn’t have to be this way.

"Over a decade, Amazon spent about one-tenth of the capex that the Magnificent Seven spent in two years on generative AI building AWS — something that now powers a vast chunk of the web, and has long been Amazon’s most profitable business unit."

who thinks LLMs are *currently* worth 10 AWS's?

Why does Apple insist that every iPhone should have the same number of icons on the home screen? Does the Pro Max do it too? Because the Air had the same icon count as my 13 mini, despite much much more screen area
September 23, 2025 at 1:40 PM
I went by the Apple Store to handle the new phones, and tbh, I want to move on from my 13 mini but all of those feel comically huge and bulky in comparison. 17 Pro feels like a toy. Air is the only one that feels reasonable, and it’s still heavier, just spread out more. Will wait and see for now.

I love that the stars and stripes are coming back into fashion around here, at least in a small way, but to anyone inspired: follow the flag code. the flag is a banner, it is not clothing. do not buy apparel made of cloth with the flag pattern. (I think depictions of the flag are fine personally.)

Meta is planning to spend $600 billion on AI in the next 3 years? Thats $582/US resident/year… Y’all, I think we *might* have let Facebook hoard too much money

this is really the whole thing, isn't it? we, as a culture, are so fucking hooked on the prosperity doctrine that we have to find failings in ourselves and others to explain problems our *children* have. stop trying to sound sciency when you mean to ask "why would God inflict autism on good parents"
"The big problem with assigning [autism] blame to vaccines, Tylenol or cold, unloving mothers is that when we’re having discussions about blame, we’re not having discussions about the best way to support autistic people." By @ericmgarcia.bsky.social:

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., continues to sow discord and disinformation about autism and characterize autistic people like me as nothing but burdens.

dying at the image Apple chose to illustrate their "Roadside assistance via satellite" feature, it's a real Saab story, if you know what I mean

okay, this is some incredible political maneuvering actually
Enough with the backroom scheming.

If Trump is serious about intervening in the mayoral race, he should come to New York City and debate me directly.

you ever think about how there's actually a whole thing about censorship in video gaming right now and it seems to be mostly carried by queer peeps and sex workers and basically not at all, as far as I can tell, by the GG folk who made that a rallying cry whenever an ass size got nerfed

I know, I know, but: The president of the US saying, literally, "we're going in" in reference to sending the military to an American city for no reason beyond terrorizing the local population should be the most immediately impeachable shit imaginable

There is no political center to move to. You do not gain voters outside your base until well after you’ve lost the voters in it. You must motivate the base you have.
starmer is doing all the anti-immigrant and anti-trans "popularism" stuff the centrists are demanding US dems do and this is the predictable result:
The government's net approval rating has fallen to -59, Labour's lowest score to date

Approve: 11% (-2 from 23-25 August)
Disapprove: 70% (+3)
Net: -59 (-5)

Newsom has effectively made his entry into the primaries a referendum on trans rights in the Dem platform. Might actually be a masterwork because it completely hides his fascism in general behind his bigotry in specific. unless people get loud about it later. I won't drop it, at least.

oh yay, *blue* police state intensification

if your problem with what Trump's doing in DC is that they're doing it under the behest of a person with an R next to their name instead of a D, please reevaluate
California Governor Gavin Newsom announced he is sending CHP officers assigned to Crime Suppression Teams into San Diego, Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Central Valley, Sacramento, and the San Francisco Bay Area. He will, among other things, use predictive policing to suppress “criminal activity.”

ugghhhh I'm so tempted to retire a flag while reading The New Colossus and other patriotic mainstays, but I'd at least have to get my hands on an old flag first, and local burn laws are a bit of a bear
