The issue here isn't new recruits. These are longstanding agents shooting civilians on the street. Here's @vermontgmg.bsky.social on abuses at ICE and especially CBP: the US sees more crimes PER CAPITA - that is, per US resident - from these immigration officers than from all illegal immigrants. 5/

Absolutely. My testimony Friday in Chicago laid out how wild it is that CBP’s long-running corruption has taken an org founded on fundamentally racist policies and actually made it even *more* racist since 9/11. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/accountabi...

Burn it all down.
This level of disgusting racism and cruelty didn’t exist in a vacuum, and it didn’t end with Epstein.

Epstein files:

“JEFF wanted, ‘young, fresh meat girls. Virgins.’ He told ■, ‘Don’t bring me any n*ggers.’”

The common 🧵 in every single election, from Susan Crawford in Wisconsin to Zohran Mamdani in NYC to Taylor Rehmet in Texas, is that a clear majority of voters don't like evil, hate, incompetence, & far right authoritarianism. The policy details are election-specific, but that's the hummable tune.
Data / quant note: What model or message testing predicted how public opinion would shift 32 points in one year in this Texas seat?

None. No quant data could solely determine the correct message for this, no linear model could based on ad tests or issue polls.

(Not that ICE is any angel, but it's important to keep these straight. Yes, abolish ICE, but let's not forget that CBP is a problem too.)

If you talk to any of the dolls so many of them have stories of sleeping with wealthy and powerful men. It wouldn't shock you that most of the men involved are publicly transphobic. They view trans women as sex objects.
O cool The hypothesis that the elite were trying to segrigate trans people from society purely to keep us as sex slaves was real, but only for trans women since they see trans men as undesirable for sex and want them eliminated which is EXACTLY THE POLICIES AND RHETORIC WE'RE SEEING HAPPEN RIGHT NOW

A reminder that Louisiana’s congressional map was purposely drawn to protect Mike Johnson’s House seat, because the Supreme Court declared that partisan gerrymanders are non-reviewable by courts. Of course he supports anti-democratic vote rigging - what’s what keeps him in his job.
WELKER: What do you say to the allegation Trump is going to meddle in midterms & that's what he's doing in GA?

JOHNSON: I find it comical a senator from GA is talking about schemes. GA was example A of that

Few things are as emblematic of the legal profession as lawyers bemoaning the over-the-top language, style, and citations of the judge who granted habeas relief to a 5-year-old asylum seeker and his father, while saying nothing about why habeas was needed in the first place.

Conservatives have been angry at a series of judicial rulings, including one that safeguarded direct democracy in 2024 & one that struck down their gerrymander. 1st step of their retaliation.

My guess is that there will be very little pushback against Governor Cox for this, and that as he positions himself for 2028, he will do so by presenting himself as the moderate, sane voice of the GOP. But this is straightforwardly undermining a check on more radical policymaking.

It’s resilience in the face of cruel injustice, communities organizing against oppression, and people using the law as a tool for change.

This Black History Month, we honor that legacy and recommit to the work ahead.
