@emilytesh.net I found ‘Some Desperate Glory’ at my local feminist bookshop. Fifty pages in, I have very definite thoughts about where it’s going, why Ursa left, and who will prove to be the actual villain. Hoping that Valkyr will prove herself a true avenging angel!

Okay, I have an idea…the 99% fund a private equity group that buys OTHER private equity groups, loads them with debt, then walks away…

Could we make it work?

SCOOP from me: Trump's AI action plan released last week makes a specific set of recommendations around loosening Clean Water Act permits for data centers — recommendations mirrored in letters sent to the administration by Big Tech lobbyists earlier this year:
Big Tech Asked for Looser Clean Water Act Permitting. Trump Wants to Give It to Them
New AI regulations suggested by the White House mirror changes to environmental permitting suggested by Meta and a lobbying group representing firms like Google and Amazon Web Services.

So it’s come to arresting rabbis. Does this administration have no shame or humanity?
HAPPENING NOW: a group of New York rabbis are being arrested at a protest outside the Israeli consulate calling for bringing food into Gaza, an end to the war, and return of all hostages

Betting that if Ghislaine Maxwell is pardoned and testifies on the Donald’s behalf, she’ll thereafter have the life expectancy of a mosquito. She’s better off not taking a deal from Donny.

Alright everyone. Republicans are going to force a vote on their gender affirming care provision even though it violates Senate rules. They’ll need 60 votes to keep it in. Now is the time to make your voice heard and ask your Senators to stand on the side of health care freedom.
Transgender medicaid ban and definition of sex are back in the federal bill - Dems can raise a point of order and force a vote, and as long as we don't lose 7 dems on this, Dems can keep it out.

Definitely worth some phone calls folks.

This means that Democrats will have to raise a point of order on this part of the bill. This would force a vote on the amendment that would require 60 votes. Republicans have 53 Senate seats, so it means they would need to pick off 7 Democrats for this.

Teachers don't need more tech. They need smaller classes and more (paid) time for prep and instruction. But alas, the tech option means more profit for billionaires, while the latter would cost billionaires more in taxes. And so, in our current kleptocracy, tech is what teachers are going to get...
🧵 addressing the argument: "AI won’t replace teachers, but it will save them time and make them more effective.”

Adding edtech doesn't necessarily save teachers time. A recent study found that LMSs sold to schools over the past decade+ as time-savers aren’t delivering on making teaching easier.
Technology is supposed to decrease teacher burnout – but we found it can sometimes make it worse
Efforts to simplify teachers’ jobs through technology can backfire without a strong focus on teacher well-being.

SHOUT IT FOR THE CHEAP SEATS!

ON REPEAT!
Every cut that the government makes to social services is effectively a tax on women. Because they're the ones who will be expected to fill in the gaps.
BREAKING: 1 in 4 nursing homes say they will be forced to close if Republicans pass Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.

No grandma should be kicked out of her nursing home so that Mark Zuckerberg can buy another Hawaiian island.

Listen to what Uncle George is saying—it HAS happened here, and it CAN happen again.
If you think it can’t happen here, remember that it already did. In 1942 soldiers came with rifles to our home and ordered us out. They put us in internment camps. Most of us were citizens.

Once again, the Roberts Court defers to religiosity over medical science, bodily autonomy and equal treatment. Don’t imagine for a moment that second-class status will be limited to transgender children.😡

Of course asking someone what genitals they had at birth is a breach of the right to privacy. They’re called “private parts” not “private unless you suspect the person is transgender and then be as invasive as you want parts”

I wish I could effectively explain to people the cognitive and emotional distortions that have for decades accompanied my migraines. The misery is such that I pray for the headaches to hit, just so the distortions will go away. I’ve ruined relationships during migraine prodromes; and I hate that.

So, on the 92nd anniversary of the Nazis invading Germanys first sex-change clinic, SCOTUS rules that a blatantly discriminatory and unfounded ban on trans military service can proceed. Coincidence?

I had a bit of hope for our country; but SCOTUS appears poised to rubberstamp Drumpfs every wish.😭

And so it begins in The Land of the Free…😡
Lol. They released their 400 page US version of the Cass Review and refused to even name who the authors were. It's a glorified book report.

Anyway, this is out now y'all. I'll be looking it over today.

It’s a dysphoria evening, courtesy of my inbound migraine. I’m heartened to remember that no matter how ugly and awful I feel, that feeling is a delusion from which all women occasionally suffer.

To that end, my sisters, remember that you are all beautiful, and wanted, and loved. ❤️

Good night. 🌙

The true talent of Catholic institutions is their ability to talk out both sides of their mouths. “Rules for thee, but not for me.”
When faced with a pretty damning malpractice suit, these ‘Catholic’ hospital admins no longer believe in THEIR OWN posted guidelines (approved 2018) committing to “respect the sacredness of every human life from the moment of conception until death.” Almost like it’s actually just forced birtherism…
Aiming to limit damages, Catholic hospital argues a fetus isn't the same as a 'person' • Iowa Capital Dispatch
A faith-based health care provider is arguing in court that the loss of an unborn child does not equate to the death of a “person.”
