it's kind of the least surprising thing ever that they made a machine that generates uninteresting lofi beats to study to. spotify had already mechanized the hell out of that labor. most music that is listened to, by minutes, is listened to passively. no industry has really been disrupted here

as a "music tech" person i've had a lot of people come up to me and excitedly talk about suno or some other music generation app that they think is amazing. but none those people have been, like, avid music listeners or musicians or even really in music tech themselves. so.

It really does seem like there's a decent chance that these senators screwed us because they don't want their personal Thanksgiving plans to be disrupted.
Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.
