Just a reminder that because of Citizens United, dark money billionaires and corporations have stolen nearly all of the representation in our government from ‘We the People’ and they’re using that representation to brutalize us and torch the Constitution.

WATCH — @laurajedeed.bsky.social : “What’s not funny, and what’s extremely disturbing, is there’s no accountability in this process from beginning to end… unless I was the only person to experience this glitch, ICE does not know who is on these streets. This should not be a partisan issue.”

pretty wild statement re: Republican Chris Madel drop from race for MN governor:

"Saying he cannot support the national GOP's 'stated retribution on citizens of our state, nor can I count myself a member of a party that would do so."

This is why I temporarily relocated in pregnancy from MO to NY. As a person living with a chronic condition, I knew if I had complications I had to be in a state that provides women total access to healthcare. I’m fortunate enough that I could swing the additional costs but no woman should have to.
Women who enter pregnancy with chronic conditions are at an elevated risk of long-term complications and, in some cases, death.

For those who live in states that have banned abortion, their options are now severely limited.
Women With High-Risk Pregnancies Have Limited Options Under Abortion Bans
Our reporting has found that abortion bans generally don’t include exceptions that cover health concerns pregnant women with chronic conditions can face — or if they do, doctors aren’t using them.

Americans have a habit of trying to compare all authoritarianism to Nazi Germany. I think in some ways i think it is comforting to view authoritarianism as a foreign ideology. If you want to understand our current authoritarian moment, you need to look to our own past, not to Europe 1/x

I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...

Hope doesn't find us. We make hope through action and struggle. It's a practice of living and is re-made daily.

If you're in New York, please take two minutes right now to call Governor Hochul and tell her to support and sign New York 4 All, which would prevent state and local agencies from collaborating with ICE.

Friend and comrade, I hate to tell you my own family history, let alone that of millions... for my people, it was 99 long years from the Emancipation Proclamation to the Civil Rights Act.

Entire generations lived and died.

(I pray that the fire this time is kinder. I do pray.)
i do not know how this goes on for three more years

And OBAA is such a reflection of how the left does not protect the Black women that the right attacks either. They either attack or fetishize Black women.
