JD Vance comparing things to the Titanic is genuinely one of the most comically honest things that he’s ever said.

Hmm. I’m going to guess that given the potentially lethal conduct of ICE agents, the school recognized that people might need to watch out for them. This seems like events have borne it out.
what the fuck are we doing here, @cnn.com?

And I'd like to thank Wanda Sykes for being Wanda Sykes because I she didn't exist--alas--we could not possibly invent her.

I genuinely wonder whether Kamala Harris would be President today if Joe Biden had made NYT feel special.

This may be about the 10th story on this interview, probably the 4th or 5th that's largely about "NYT LOOK AT US!!!!"

In a recent Atlantic Week in Review, Jeff Goldberg &co were chortling over NATO nations pointing out that if Trump takes Greenland that’s it for the alliance. “He doesn’t care!”

Of course he doesn’t. NATO’s speaking to our press and politicians, not Trump. They’re saying, “TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!”
I see this take around from time to time and totally disagree. ICE just murdered a woman standing up to them. No Kings is among the largest protests in history.

The complacency is coming from elites in media, business, universities, and the Democratic leadership

This guy Homan has been threatening Blue States, and Democratic mayors, governors, and congresspeople all the livelong day for the past year. He's is among the more poorly trained of this administrations impressive collection of knuckle-draggers.
The routine hateful rhetoric these gorillas use should be teed up and ready to go in highlight reels anytime this BS starts to roll.
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."

Oh, look. Another member of the national press who woke up thinking the most important thing he could do was to scold a big city mayor for using harsh language at one of the thugs who killed a constituent in cold blood.
TAPPER: Does your rhetoric need to change?

FREY: I said this was a federal agent recklessly using power that ended up in somebody dying because that was a federal agent recklessly using power that ended up in somebody dying. I got two eyes.

"Turn the temperature down." That's a hot one. Imagine waking up in the morning as a journalist and thinking that your most important priority was to scold a big city mayor for swearing at the gang that killed one of his citizens in cold blood.
WELKER: Do you bear any responsibility to bring down the temperature?

FREY: Of course. But I dropped an F bomb and they killed somebody. I think the killing somebody is the inflammatory element here and not the F bomb.

I subscribe to the maxim that billionaires represent a policy failure in a democracy.
TFW you get a piece of US mail notifying you in tiny letters that your name and SS# have been released into the wild because of an “Oracle data breach.” Meanwhile Larry Ellison is prancing around making the world worse with suitcases fulla sweet moonshine from that very crap software.

Thinking about that time in 1854 when U.S. Marshals wrapped an entire Boston courthouse in actual heavy chains to prevent Anthony Burns, a "fugitive slave," from being rescued by an abolitionist vigilance committee before being returned to bondage in Virginia. For some reason.

Speaking ill of the dead is controversial, particularly when it was a violent death. It’s edgy; it’s sensitive; best avoided in most cases, etc.

Baselessly making another person’s murder *about yourself,* and then approving of it, is a different thing. That is delusional, narcissistic, sociopathic.
