Please repost, if like me, you will never accept Brexit.

It harms the British people. It was obtained through foreign interference and by far the worst abuses of democracy in modern British history, and it robs us of freedom and citizenship.

We owe them a debt of thanks. The EU was born out of the horrors of war when leaders got together to say ‘never again’

It’s humanity’s greatest example of countries working together for peace, mutual benefit, equality, and human rights

My father who served in the RAF right through WWII returned damaged both physically and mentally and went through the rest of his life with very little medical help for what he suffered. Rather than celebrating the end of wars long past how about preventing them from happening in future? #r4today

Seeing an odd collection of Labour tribalists on Bluesky lately insisting that, despite appearances, UK Labour is doing wondrous things and insisting that people are either not seeing them or being impatient. This from George Monbiot seems like a good summary of how that is, frankly, nonsense.

Immigration is not the problem it’s now widely believed to be.
Brexit is much more of a problem than it’s reported to be.
So how can govt achieve growth, fix public svcs and deal with the cost of living if fear of Reform means it won’t be honest with us about these 2 elephants in the room?
It can’t.
May 5, 2025 at 8:02 AM
Hey Chumbawamba, how about re-forming (not reform-ing - God forbid) and helping us make sense of, or even better, put a halt to this rush to UK Trumpism? Or maybe just form a political party, and the next government? Come on, you know you can do it. We need you.

I'm faced with the prospect of having to vote for the Tory (right-wing) candidate in the Lincolnshire mayoral election in order to keep the Reform (right-wing nutter) candidate out. Not pretty.

The British government doesn’t get it. Brexit was the first step in the populist crapshow that has weakened Europe as a whole vis a vis Trump and Putin. Reducing the harm of Brexit is the first step to Europe recovering
Asked whether Trump's trade war means the UK will now consider re-entering a customs union with the EU, Keir Starmer's spokesman replies that "we're not going backwards when it comes to Brexit"

Marine Le Pen and Nigel Farage are old friends. They both took a LOT of money from the EU without doing any work for it. One of them has now been convicted of embezzlement. It would be interesting to know if the UK authorities have ever even investigated Nigel Farage.

Following Labour's pathetic response to the Rejoin debate yesterday, let's keep the pressure up. All rejoiners, please sign and share. #RejoinEU
Labour's ONLY reason not to #RejoinEU given is that it's in manifesto not to.

So let's demand a Rejoin referendum, which is not in their manifesto, getting rid of that pathetic excuse.

Please Sign and Share! Let's get it to 10k for a response...

Very informative thread on the situation on the Ukrainian frontline.
An update on the war following a recent trip. The situation has improved compared with Fall 2024. Russian offensive momentum slowed significantly over the winter, though it is premature to claim that the front has stabilized, especially following AFU withdrawal in Kursk. /1

And the net effect of this is that many of the people who only voted Labour "to get the Tories out" in 2024 are getting less and less likely to lend their votes again in 2029.

Remember:
1. They're not natural Labour voters
2. The Tories won't be in power
3. Labour's not behaving in the expected way

Mentioned it before, but I get significantly angrier when Labour behave like Tories than when the Tories do, because you instinctively expect it of the latter but not of Labour, so the "disappointment gap" is MUCH larger in Labour's case.
