On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

Bill is great. His writing is great. But he sucks, too, because he makes me want to buy more books. I have so many books. Thanks(?), Bill.
My new FREE TO ALL Reading Project post is up. In this one, Don DeLillo's THE NAMES turns me into a conspiracy theorist, and David Demchuk's THE BONE MOTHER redefines folk horror!
