Watching the WILTY Christmas episode. Not much of a lineup, outside of the mainstays, who are my main reasons for watching anyway. But I wonder if the guests are so boring because nobody likes Walliams and turned the gig down when they heard he'd be on.

My favorite Yorgos Lanthimos so far -- since DOGTOOTH anyway -- has been the one I was least curious about going in.

Nice to see Highest2Lowest so, uh, high. Didn't get its due and the reception felt like people had never seen a Spike Lee movie before.

2025 has been a terrible year for me keeping up with current/interesting releases, but as things stand this is my top 15.

It's a very @criterion.bsky.social and @valancourtbooks.bsky.social Christmas (I also got shirts, and shipping was delayed on NIGHTMARE ALLEY (Kathryn can't remember which one, I want both)).

yeah clearly my memory of how this spirit is traditionally depicted on film is all skewed
I would say The Ghost of Christmas Past from A MUPPETS CHRISTMAS CAROL comes fairly close. I always found it a little unnerving.... in a good way!

I just finished watching IF I HAD LEGS I'D KICK YOU and I thought it was very good. Good morning, merry Christmas.

Rewatching one of *the* best Christmas movies. Saw someone on Twitter once poking fun at how serious Michael Caine's performance is. Well pardon him for doing the job he was hired to do.

A lovely young lady I used to work with once told me she thought I was funny, which was nice, but upon reflection, her tag to that -- that it was like i didn't know what I was saying was funny -- makes me think now that she just thought I was an idiot.

I am not as miserable a person as I may sometime seem, and I believe my wife and I are going to have a very pleasant long Christmas weekend together. As the titular character says at the end of John Gardner's GRENDEL, in a slightly different context, "So may you all!"
