just a thought but if @ddotdc.bsky.social swept the streets after the leaves fall off, then maybe I wouldn’t have to leave an obstructed bike lane for the car lane, only for a driver to tell me to “get your motherfucking ass in that fucking bike lane” and then threatening to run me off the road

Seriously, if anyone wants to partner up (i.e. you have a bunch of money for rent and me and my friends renovate and program the theater and run it at a profit), DMs are open

one problem with limiting all your headlines to 64 characters is that people will be let down when they read this is actually two different people

A lady in her eighties who lives in my building asked me if she should see Marty Supreme, or as she put it, "the one about the pisher who thinks he's a big shot," and I don't think this movie has anything to teach her that she doesn't already know.

You do not gotta hand it to MTG (or anyone), but this does read as the story of someone who arrived in Washington as a committed ideologue only to be discouraged as the transactional nature of Congress chipped away at her idealism. Like a MAGA-dipped “Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington”

Die My Love: Chaotic and dreamy…a horny hot mess with Malick vibes boxd.it/ciVWXn
A ★★★★ review of Die My Love (2025)
Not sure what won me over more: That I will enjoy almost anything where Jennifer Lawrence is a hot mess, or that this is a hot mess with that looks like a Malick dreamscape filtered through nightmare ...

hey why just Gen Z? plenty of millennials who’d love to be the meat in a Varang-Frankenstein’s monster sandwich
Never seen Gen Z so horny for movie characters as they are for Oona Chaplin’s Varang and Jacob Elordi’s Frankenstein’s creature. The shot of Timmy Chalamet’s butt in Marty Supreme didn’t do anything. The age of monster fuckers is upon us.

Fellowship: “They have a fucking cave troll.”

Two Towers: “Meat’s back on the fucking menu, boys!”

Return of the King: “Abandon your posts! Flee! Flee for your fucking lives!”
The Lord of The Rings movies were rated PG-13. By current rules that means that each film could contain one use of the word "Fuck". Which line are you altering to insert the most useful swear word?

"I can't carry it for you, but I can Fucking carry you"

I see you
The huge box office is what makes it such a paradox. Everyone sees them, and then what? No “May the Force be with you,” no Quidditch, no MCU-like fan theorizing. Compared to the other franchises of its scale, it has weirdly little hold over the popular imagination. I repeat: “Jake Sully.”

Marty Supreme is tremendous. A nervy, funny, thrilling adventure that needs to be seen and heard on a screen as big as its title character’s ambitions. Looks really great in 70mm too.

Marty Supreme might be breaking The Brutalist’s record for “greatest number of stupid film bros at AFI Silver for a 70mm screening”

Did you know that Christmas Day is one of the biggest filmgoing days of the year?

If you’re headed to a matinee today, remember that theater operators are working extra hard to make the movies magical for you and yours. Be sure to thank them and to treat them and your fellow filmgoers kindly!
