Yes, obviously I loved AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH. Not as much of a reinvention as WAY OF WATER, but definitely an exciting continuation. Stephen Lang's freaky villain Quaritch is the M.V.P. this time, and he has a girlfriend!

I’m not gonna waste your time pretending you need my opinion whether to see AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH or not. If you don’t like these movies, no, don’t bother. If

I'm sincerely very appreciative for the whistle kit but WHY use fucking A.I. art on the instructions?

I was going to take credit for Criterion putting out POETIC JUSTICE because I wrote about it last year, but then I realized I haven't posted it because it's part of a series I'm still working on.

Criterion why did you hack my hard drive

I guess they'll never have a release of POINT BLANK with any Parker-related extras, but that's cool that it's gonna be in the Criterion Collection, and the Boorman/Soderbergh commentary is a classic.

True. I get on the bus. (Had to do it for JUROR #2 because the other dipshit in the photo with you wouldn't give it a proper release.)

I know the homelessness part is more important but I cannot tell you how good it feels to have a mayor who understands that this specific bus route is a nightmare and wants to fix it!

I didn't think I could be offended by the @screendrafts.bsky.social Paul W.S. Anderson episode, but I found a couple ways! Luckily I pre-rebutted the "MONSTER HUNTER is boring" allegations with @weinbergs.bsky.social on a Patreon episode of Overhated.

Check out outlawvern.com, where in one week I reviewed

1. an obscure 2023 black and white indie dramedy
2. a documentary about THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE
3. Jafar Panahi's recent Palme d'or winner
4. a broad 2012 comedy with a 5% on Rotten Tomatoes but I liked it

A buddy in MN shared a drawing a classmate of his kid made. They've been making thank you notes for parents who have volunteered to carpool them to school so their own parents don't have to risk waiting out by the bus stop.

Talkative movie nerd behind me at SIFF Uptown said "ohhhh-KAY!?" at the end of trailers for both JU-DOU and THE COOK, THE THIEF, HIS WIFE & HER LOVER, and I felt about 200 years old.

Eight years ago, I wrote this essay about Seattle’s historic moviehouses, focusing on 7 theaters that were at least half a century old and still operating. Now only 3—the Admiral, the Uptown, and the former Cinerama—are still open; the rest are just memories. www.seattletimes.com/entertainmen...

I enjoyed CHAIN REACTIONS, a sort of visual essay about my favorite horror movie, told through five interviews and the power of montage. (Also I bought the special edition that comes with THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE transferred from eight different film and video formats!)
