If you're near Dundee, I'll be part of the Pecha Kucha line-up at @dundeerep.bsky.social on Friday. Note that this won't be streamed online like previous years.

I'll be speaking about my trips around the Millennium Bridges of Great Britain.

Calling regular readers of @strongmisgiving.bsky.social and his weekly analysis of You Be the Judge.

The Guardian is running a live edition of this on Wednesday 26 November, which I'll be watching online. They're also looking for more petty squabbles to resolve:

If it hasn't been done already, I think the chocolate towns of Bourneville, UK and Hershey, Pennsylvania need to be twinned.

I've been disproportionately thinking about Steve Penk tonight, who made a prank call to Tony Blair in 1997, then was everywhere for about five minutes before falling off the radar.

Woah there, buckaroo. Let's not boldly assume I think anything about [topic] at this stage.

Hello, fellow railway infrastructure enthusiasts. I had the opportunity to see the #Railway200 train in Glasgow this weekend. I have two main thoughts, so let's start with the negative one first.

Memorable Names for Fictional Characters
Most of the time, I find it easy to think of what the characters in my stories should be called. Their names often appear at the same time as the storyline. I wrote one such piece in 2014 titled Adrian Eats the World, which appeared at the same time as the title. Until I found the file while writing this, I thought that was still its name.

However, I can't think of any way to make it even half-exciting, and I doubt anyone wants to read an erotic version.
