Der er noget dybt abnormt ved den måde historien fra Langeland bliver fortalt på journalistisk: Efterskoleelever får kastet sten gennem ruder. De bliver forfulgt af biler. De bliver truet med voldtægt. En elev bliver slået ned foran et supermarked. Det er alvorlige forbrydelser. #dkpol #dkmedier

The Greenland conflict is *not* a trade conflict. It is about preserving the sovereignty of a European country. The goal should thus *not* be to avoid tariffs but to make the US drop its aggression. That is why tools beyond trade policy such as threatening to boycott the world cup could make sense.

If the US occupied Greenland, it would have very bad humanitarian consequences for the Greenlanders. The Greenlandic public sector is run by the Danish and Greenlandic authorities in cooperation (if anyone is interested in Hjemmestyreloven anno 1979 + Selvstyreloven 2009, I can explain further).

i think, however, this is a crystal clear example that the next cold war is actually democracy vs autocracy and the battle lines run right through every single advanced democracy. there aren't really any safe harbors.

Apparently the State Department, led Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the nation's top diplomat, released a strategic plan. Goal 1 is U.S. National Sovereignty. Goal 2 is "The Western Hemisphere and Establishment of the Donroe Doctrine."
