I’m also looking for 10-15 volunteers to host seed distribution stations across the city. This involves hanging posters with clips on the bottom (that I’ll give you) & keeping the poster stocked with packets of seeds as people take them.

One of the easiest things we can do to help wildlife in cities is plant native plants. We’re going to make this as easy as possible for Philly people this winter/spring by giving them the seeds they need to start.

I need YOUR help prepping those seeds on Dec 17.

Hundreds of Starbucks baristas and labor organizers blockaded Starbucks' largest distribution center in York, Pennsylvania, halting distribution of syrups, coffee beans, and other supplies to the entire northeast.

This escalation is part of @sbworkersunited.org's ongoing strike.

Big news: I’m writing a book!!

I’ll be writing & illustrating a beginner’s guide to appreciating wildlife in cities/suburbs, & how all of us can make our neighborhoods better for those animals.

Thank you to my book agent @ericsmithrocks.bsky.social & the folks at Storey for believing in this book!

GO BIRDS, GO VOTE

Real talk: believe me when I say, I know it's far from reliably inspiring to participate in democracy in Philadelphia, but for real, go vote. Just go. The most important elections are for DA and to retain the PA Supreme Court justices. It matters.

The Philly collab I’ve been dying for
Sometimes you just have to go appreciate the art of your city with the people who love doing the same! If you don’t know Philly With Lena yet, you will. And if you’ve walked by this mural a million times without truly noticing it in all its glory, slow down next time you’re in the neighborhood!

Let’s keep writing. Let’s keep reading. Let’s keep putting weird and lighthearted and dark and highbrow books into the world. Let’s not let them take our joy for stories and our love of storytelling—because god knows they are trying to silence us while they take away everything else.

These calendars are how we're funding the 2026 Philly Native Plant project!

Each calendar spread has information about an animal *and* links to a list of things each of us can do to help that animal thrive in its natural habitat.

Learn about helping while empowering our actions? Pretty good deal.
🚨 Cool educational item alert 🚨

We teamed up with Philly Nature Illustrator, Meg Lemieur @megstampede.bsky.social to create a 12 month wall calendar all about animals!

The calendar includes lessons we can learn from animals & how we can help them.
