How much profit did the military earn last year?
NEW: The U.S. Postal Service posted a net loss of $3.3 billion in this fiscal year’s second quarter mainly due to “significant challenges out of our control,” including workers’ compensation costs, Luke Grossmann, USPS chief financial officer, said at the open session of the governing board meeting

Alito is sermonizing about how religious parents basically should be allowed to run (read destroy) public schools. This is religious supremacy not free exercise.

as it turns out there are worse options than hypocrisy, politically speaking
We can discuss how self-serving it was, but I do think it was valuable that Americans *used* to think that we *should* be a force for good and be willing to reach out and help. Beyond soft power, it was a good thing folks would expect us to send aid, to organize around it and to offer support.

there was and is no downside — none at all — to refusing to vote for a single trump nominee. the idea that any senate democrat would be punished for "not working with him" would have dissipated as soon as one of these people was involved in a catastrophic scandal, which was a certainty.

Donald Trump’s billionaire Commerce Secretary has financial advice for Americans:

1. Please buy Tesla stock to help poor Elon Musk.

2. Shut up and don’t complain when you don’t get your Social Security check.
Trump’s Commerce Secretary just said seniors shouldn’t “call and complain” if they stop getting their Social Security checks: “A fraudster always makes the loudest noise screaming and complaining.”

There's something even more maddening than usual about watching this cheap, pampered little thug presuming to lecture a guy who's worth 50 of him.
BREAKING: There has just been a huge argument between Zelenskyy, Trump & Vance in the Oval Office.

Trump calls Zelenskyy disrespectful and says he “is no position to dictate” to the US.

Trump raises his voice to Zelenskyy. He can’t stand someone standing up to him.

This is unbelievable.

Once again: tomorrow is the deadline for registration as a Democrat in NYC, so as to be able to vote in the mayoral primary on June 24th. There's not a lot we can do in this moment, but please join me in kicking Eric Adams to the curb.
New Yorkers: tomorrow is the last day to register to vote in this year's mayoral primary — don’t count on others to get rid of the corrupt & compromised collaborator Eric Adams, who's mayor because 79% of eligible NYers failed to turn out last time.
Do your part, dammit:

This is not accidental. They can't keep spreading conspiracy theories about what USAID was doing (at least not as easily) if the genuine records are right there, publicly available for everyone to read.

There have to be consequences for this down the road. People need to pay for actions like these.
Over 200,000 records from USAID’s Development Experience Clearinghouse, a publicly available online repository documenting nearly 50 years of USAID’s projects, is gone. Taxpayer property stolen by Musk and his cronies. It’s a crime.
