It's funny, in a gallows-humor sense, to read the social media of conservatives trying to defend this regime. Their defenses are weak, halfhearted, reliant entirely on innuendo and insinuation.

To paraphrase Pope Francis, love demands that we stop the oppressor and abuser from committing oppression and abuse. We cannot forget what’s happening, because to forget is to hand them the tools to hurt other people again. None of these men should be granted power over another, ever again.
People are kidnapping preschoolers and macing fully restrained protesters because they like the power to make others suffer, and I need us all to burn into our memories what they’re doing now because they’re definitely going to be asking for grace and forgiveness in the not too distant future.
