And there is no way you will ever convince me that the Dems and their consultants didn't go hard after Trump because they wanted him to run again, because they thought there's no way the American public would be stupid enough to elect him twice.

Again, there is no amount of vote scolding that changes the underlying fact that he was allowed to run again in the first place AFTER staging a coup, that we all watched live 5 years ago. If voters are the only ones responsible for enforcing the laws in this country, then our govt has failed us.
The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

Seeing blue maga types doing the "Dems can't do anything, elections have consequences!" and blaming voters but like why didn't the 2020 election have consequences for Republicans? Wild how centrists willfully skip over that.

Pete Carroll sucks but was he supposed to win without an OL and with Bowers playing hurt all year? It's a very Raiders move.

12+ hours later we finally get an estimate of how many Venezuelans were killed

The thing is, most Democrats fully believe we have the right to do what we want which is why they're only griping about the consultation bit. The rest of the world needs to start doing something about us.
This is why it's also important for domestic elected officials to condemn it as "illegal" and not just gripe about consultation. This is the stuff upon which international law is built. The prohibition against piracy wasn't some entity declaring it illegal worldwide, it was a custom built over time.
For nonlawyers, it’s worth noting that statements like this have—as a formal matter—important legal effects as a matter of international law. If such statements are *not* made, and in volume, future arguments that Trump’s invasion sets a legal precedent will stand on much firmer legal ground.

You ever think about how the Roman Senate kept meeting centuries into the reigns of emperors. Hanging out, shooting the shit, giving speeches, and play-acting that their positions of privilege remained positions of power.

I live in Colorado and wasn't aware I was suffering due to Maduro/Venezuela. So happy my suffering is over!

In a few months at least I can distract myself from all this by watching some Giants baseball. I'll be so despondent watching that rotation it'll numb the pain of everything else.

Schumer and Jeffries starting their responses with "Maduro bad" just goes to show that even if Trump had gone through Congress to get "proper authority" for this he would have gotten bi-partisan support just like Iraq all over again. Dems are useless.

One of my favorite American things is how we've done coups non-stop to destabilize Latin America for over 100 years and then we turn around and say "look how shitty their economies and systems are and look how much better our capitalism is." We suck so bad.

Senate Dems fully endorsed Marco Rubio's appointment and they're not saying anything about Venezuela now. The 1 party system is working!

We cannot stop an illegal war against Venezuela
When I say there is no democracy in this country, this is what I mean. We have no democratic control of *anything* no matter how consequential. We can’t stop a genocide, we can’t impeach a billionaire pedophile, we can’t stop an AI CSAM factory.These are all related.

Very cool that the mainstream media has jumped ahead several steps and is telling their audiences that Grok is a sentient being that controls itself and speaks for itself.

Kids today don't even know how to send a Morse code distress signal to let nearby ships know the Titanic is sinking and that says a lot about our education system please stop laughing at me this is very serious
It's 2026.

Things many American school kids probably don't know how to do:

* Dial a rotary telephone

* Tell time from an analog clock

* Read or write cursive

* Decipher Roman numerals

* Navigate with a paper map or use a compass

* Balance a checkbook

(Please add more below)

Search for Spock is such a letdown because of bad writing decisions with good characters from Wrath of Khan. They reduced Saavik to nothing when they could have written about how Vulcans handle grief. They made David a villain which also did Carol dirty without her being in it.
