...I do not feel entitled to a partnership with the city. I am but a citizen with a cause. I am dismayed however that after 9 years of constantly trying to work with @nyc-dot.bsky.social that they once again have found an excuse to prevent us from growing in NYC.

This time: "not qualified enough"

Can we talk about lighting? It is much worse now. Sure no light pollution but also no visibility. During a rain event last night it was almost impossible to see pedestrians and bicycles amid the glare. And night comes early now. Right when everyone is going home/out for dinner evening activities.

I think about this a lot as I have experienced the same treatment over the years: it's the microaggressions and the constant downplaying of everything that we have achieved that makes this work really hard for us.

If you read the story, the actual culprits here are big agribusinesses contaminating the groundwater through nitrates in their fertilizers. That's where the cancer is coming from.

Insane that the headline and this piece essentially let them completely off the hook!
It’s so wild how the wealthy are destroying the Amazon that potentially has the cure for all the cancers in favor of an Amazon that’s creating new types of cancers

It doesn’t get as much attention anymore but Trump’s trade war is still very much harming the Canadian economy.

Notably steel and automotive in Ontario, aluminum in Quebec, and forestry in British Columbia and New Brunswick.

Important column by @conservationpa.bsky.social's Molly Parzen about how state Democrats caved to Republicans to strike a budget deal in Harrisburg by agreeing to sacrifice the #RGGI (and the environment and a livable future). #Pennsylvania
The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative is a multi-state program that forces corporate polluters to pay for investments in renewable energy and is the best tool we had to lower energy prices and fight climate change.Yet Pennsylvania's GOP is celebrating killing it as part of the state budget deal.

The bigger thing about Nalin (& a lot of Gen Z conservatives) is that they try to center young people's economic struggles rhetorically don't actually offer anything new on econ policy. All his answers to economic struggles are "we need less immigrants", which is already established Trump policy

it’s fun watching people see what trans folks have been warning of for years. the media has no capacity to inform about the politicization of health care
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

This is why @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social needs to go all in on street safety, bike lanes, bus lanes, pedestrians plazas and more. The Post – and the Right in general – is going to call anything he does a “war on drivers” no matter what, so why not just do what’s right and go for it?
