Some interpret "abundance" to mean an "abundance of highways." Ben of America Walks is leading a panel at the #crossroadsconvening on "Centering Transportation Equity in the Abundance Agenda" to do better than that. FYI, "some" is the Abundance Caucus in Congress, cdn.sanity.io/files/ifn0l6...

Yes. Lives are more important than parked cars obscuring sight lines of those in and out of vehicles. Daylighting intersections should be a standard safety practice everywhere.
Mayor Mamdani said over the weekend that he wants the Department of Transportation to add daylighting before someone has been killed rather than wait to ban parking at intersections after a completely avoidable tragedy. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/01/05/m...

Walkable communities are healthier, safer, and better for local businesses... so why do our streets still prioritize speed over people?

Because the road-building lobby spent $267 million lobbying on transportation in one year — and politicians listened. 💰🛣️

Safe streets don't build themselves. 👟🌟

The road-building lobby spent $267M last year to get what they want.

That's what we're up against. America Walks wins because we believe in 'people power' to create safer, more walkable streets and communities for all.

An astonishing percentage of Americans are open to car-free living.

The problem isn't attitudes. The problem is the failure to invest in viable options.
