This is exactly the problem. The GOP, as craven and pathetic as it has become under the leadership of a criminal and now apparently demented and frail con artist, is at least disciplined enough to stay on it's authoritarian message.

My sense is that close election losses keep Dem strategists seeking tiny tweaks in hopes of eking out the next win, b/c they’re risk averse, even tho the long term trajectory looks bad.
A seismic party overhaul could bolster the base AND win back ppl who’ve left the party toward Reps & nonvoting.
