One pernicious step after another, Bezos encroached on the Post editorial policy. Today he seized it fully. The old Washington Post is gone. I'll never write for it again as long as he's the owner.
Perfect on both counts @jfallows.bsky.social . Kelly brilliant retort echoing the ad that inspired me to write a book.
This is superb, from Sen. Kelly.
Please watch.

Insider note: First sentence of Kelly's presentation is uncannily powerful echo of my favorite TV ad ever. "Imported from Detroit," 15 yrs ago

Serendipity? Embedded memory by Kelly people? Perfect for both.

For no good reason but I think it's the team they have the best chance against.
Bring on the Bears.

Such resonant historical truth in this one sentence.

I wanna watch Army Navy but from Booz Allen to the US Secret Service to Arcfield the jingoistic ads are repellant, to say nothing of the sight of Trump.

Someone explain to me how the "Guns don't kill people, people do" crowd rationalizes the boat strikes. Shouldn't they believe that "drugs don't kill people, people do."?

Why are MS Now and CNN giving Trump all this free air time to lie and lie at his cabinet meeting? I don't get it. If there's news jump on it. So disappointing.

Part 1. One for all and all for one. The hundreds if not thousands of retired military officers who know Sen. Mark Kelly was right should issue a joint statement saying exactly what he said and challenge Hegseth to court msrtial them all.

C'mon man! The if is admittedly exhausting but still...IF Obama or Biden called 6 GOP officials seditious & called for their execution because they had told military personnel they don't have to obey ILLEGAL orders would the New York Times play the story on Page 16?

"Things happen" is the sickest answer imaginable about murder, but coming from a megalomaniac thug not out of character.
Just the president of the United States rationalizing that a Washington Post reporter was basically asking to be murdered and cut to pieces with a bone saw because of his reporting.

As he sits next to the thug who ordered it.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Murderer of Jamal Khashoggi.
There is no easier ethical test in the world than "should MBS's money buy him international respect."

Revised comparison: My friend @vermontgmg.bsky.social hss a better one -- Bovino ss modern day Nathan Bedford Forrest leading Klan raids.
The odious Bovino thinks he's George Patton but is actually the Bull Connor of these times.
Dressed up like you’re in patrol in Fallujah, passing some retired banker from Myers Park out to pick up birdseed.

Tonight's Packers loss totally on coach and QB. Defense terrific. Did not deserve this. Defense like the Democratic base. Fired up and resdy to go. Offense like the eight senators who caved. Limp and lame. So disheartening.

Wondrous sandhill cranes paying their now daily visit to our block in Madison. I love seeing them but worry. Are they here because their natural habitat has diminished? Will ICE rough them up and deport them?
