I wrote a piece on how the Democrats need to stop helping conservatives lie about trans issues. Earlier this month, I went to Crooked Con, an event @crooked.com hosted, in Washington, DC. While I found hope that Dems won’t push out people like Mamdani, one conversation frustrated me. 🧵1/9
Maybe instead of accepting conservatives lies, point them out.

With Bill and Hillary Clinton testifying in front of Congress and Trump saying it's a bad thing, my guess is he is realizing that time does move forward and eventually, he will not be president. With that realization, he will do his best to interfere with the 2026 midterm election.

I was going to publish this article end of last week, but as things were changing, especially during the weekend, I decided to wait. Now it seems like Abolishing ICE went from "maybe something to consider but probably not" to "We should probably Abolish ICE." This makes me a little tiny bit hopeful.
Pod Save America goes from not Abolishing ICE, but kinda do what Abolishing ICE is, all the way to we should probably Abolish ICE.
The super far left, radical, super unpopular belief that we should Abolish ICE may soon be something Democrats may soon be calling for.

I took a break from writing since mid-December. I am trying to write more smaller pieces about quick topics, but this week's article got a little longer than planned. I wrote about how ragebait misrepresents people in the world who are different, to attack not just them, but also trans people.
Explaining Crazy: People who "identify" as having a disability.
Recently, Facebook has become a place where people can scroll through their feed to see a bunch of posts trying to incite outrage.

This article is basically "Why isn't anyone talking about the almost 50% of people who didn't vote for Mamdani?" Like they just discovered how democracy works when they are not constantly getting what they want.
Nearly half of NYC voted against Zohran Mamdani. What do they do now?
Some are protesting to support Israel. Others want to help moderate Democrats in the midterms.

I hope someone in management at CBS sends out an anonymous survey asking what everyone thinks about how CBS is doing so far under Bari Weiss's leadership. And I hope when they get it back they tell her that most people thinks she's a joke and has no respect for her leadership.

I'm rewatching Bob's Burgers, and was wondering if anyone else gets sad that Tina won't ever go to the (H.S.) prom because she lives in a world where they're all trapped in a time loop and they have +10 of each major holidays but never age, so Tina will never be in highschool? Or is that just me?

Pediatric phalloplasty is something that takes place when there is severe genital injury or a congenital condition. I have not been able to find a single report of phalloplasty performed on a transgender minor.

This is grotesque fear-mongering.

cis people on the skyline are genuinely more distressed by karoline leavitt’s lip fillers than the fact that congress just said, “what we should do is put any doctor or pharmacist in prison who gives lifesaving medical care to this specific kind of child we find gross.”
Bluesky tonight is neatly divided between trans people and family members appropriately angry and freaking out and everyone else who has barely noticed.

Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will vote on a bill that bans gender-affirming medical care for any transgender person under 18, and threatens any medical professional providing this care to youth with 10 years in prison.

Tell Congress to protect trans youth and vote NO.

I wrote about the story that went viral after Thanksgiving weekend, where a student got a 0 for a paper on gender expectations by a TA who is trans, because she wrote god made us that way, and is now grifting by saying she is being discriminated against. This type of grift is becoming popular.

So an instructor at OU excused any students who missed class to go to a protest in support of the trans grad student who was put on leave. A student asked if it would be the same if they went to a counter protest, didn't like the answer, and they complained. Now that the instructor is also on leave.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

My brain has been scattered the past week or so, got a little behind. This is my new article about how what people thought cancel culture wasn't really what people thought, and whatever it was, might be over.
"Cancel Culture" is dead?

As many have pointed out, Mamdani didn't stand apart from our trans brothers and sisters. He didn't play the "Gee, gosh, it sure is complicated," milquetoast moderate card. And he crushed.

The way forward is together, not over the bodies of our own.
