Good news: more than 50% of the world’s economies have seen carbon emissions from fossil fuel power generation peaking. And with the speed of change in the electricity sector many more will join this growing list in coming years.

I don't understand why many junctions have single yellow lines.
Could we have a borough wide change to double yellow, without needing individual consultations and traffic orders?

1 billion people in Africa still cook with basic fuels like wood, charcoal & dung, contributing to over 800,000 premature deaths a year – mostly women & children.
Solving this major injustice would cost less than 0.1% of global energy investment.

When you switch from fossil to clean you only use like 30-40% of the energy to do the same stuff, bc most energy from fossil fuels is lost as waste heat
What's I'm trying to say is that all climate action is degrowth

From my file on the IEA's world energy outlook.
"Primary energy" = what goes in
"Final energy" = what comes out
a
The space in between: mostly lost energy bc burning fossil fuels is absurdly wasteful.
So in the net zero scenario, that gaps closes to zero --->>

I've waited a lifetime for a safe, separated cycle lane on Theobalds Road to protect me from impatient drivers. Cyclists outnumber motorised vehicles on this stretch of road, so it's only fair that the balance shifts toward more efficient modes of transport. Well done, Camden Council

Critics of renewables often point to land use as a reason not to do wind & solar. Land use IS a real issue for all energy assets incl renewables unless onsite.
But what critics conveniently forget is huge land impact of fossil fuels. Aerial view of fracking sites in Texas. 👇

I spent a really long time amassing everything you need to know about Labour's vast deals with fossil gas-loving, Trump-donating AI giants out to pepper the world with climate-wrecking data centres...so you don't have to!

The sheer scale of Labour's deals with Trump-donating Big Tech firms has been seriously under-reported.
Not only are they being allowed to build climate-wrecking data centres, they've also been given permission to embed their tech within Whitehall, the NHS, and defence 👇👇
