“Embarrassing” or “Criminal?”

We see the UCP fuck things up again and again and again. This time for all of Canada. Effectively, everything they do breaks things. Probably by design.

And yet they still have the gall to act offended when you question their actions.

I feel like there will eventually be a large monument to the dead, with an inscription of Angus King’s stupid, STUPID a statement.
Tapper: Angus King said standing up to Donald Trump didn't work.

Sanders: Maybe Angus didn't notice the elections on Tuesday. I thought that they worked pretty well.

Billionaires aren’t geniuses, they are mercurial worms, knowing when to exploit the hard work of others for their own wealth, and when to genuflect to authoritarianism, also for their own benefit.

Gates was corrupt & greedy from the start and had almost managed to redeem his image. Nope.
“I wish we could ignore Bill Gates on the climate crisis. But he’s a billionaire, so we can’t,” says George Monbiot. “His [recent climate] essay reads like nothing so much as a peace offering to Donald Trump.” [theguardian.com]

By using s33 pre-emptively, the UCP is not simply admitting that their laws are breaching Charter rights. (Governments have done that before.)

By foregoing judicial review, they are further admitting that their laws cannot be justified in a democratic society.
