Today I learned about the Immigration Act of 1924. Pushed by eugenists, bigoted politicians, and applauded by Hitler. It brought on even more intolerable cruelty to immigrants AND U.S. citizens...and ultimately ended up cratering the US economy for decades.

Given that AI seems to regularly be best at regurgitating common tropes or wisdom, however inaccurate or ill-founded – it seems like the "best" use case for it is as a replacement for CEOs.

The blacksky.community web app has been updated to support OAuth login. This means we have gotten rid of the "Hosting Provider" field when signing into our app, making it more straightforward to use our app even if you aren't yet hosted on our PDS (e.g. if you have a *.bsky.social handle)

I’m finally reading BLOOD IN THE MACHINE about the Luddite uprisings and what’s striking is that the objection was a moral one. It was wrong to destroy communities for a few guys to have more money.
They didn’t agree with the factory owners vision of the future, and they wanted an equal say in it.
