There being American Christian-right money going to UK fash makes sense to me re: Wales

Our most visible online fash presence Voice of Wales seem to be getting more vocally Christian on X, been pushing a (seemingly self-declared) US-trained 'Bishop' streaming sermons from what looks like an attic
Is British politics immune to US-style rightwing Christianity? We’re about to find out | Lamorna Ash
Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson are increasingly espousing Christian ‘values’, and a wealthy US legal group is becoming influential – this could have dire consequences, says author Lamorna Ash

Sarah Hurwitz Profanes the Holocaust
Holocaust education has worked too well for the Obama speechwriter, since when she rationalizes Israel's genocide, "I sound obscene." Maybe sit with that, Sarah

A lot of education discourse is at root an inability to decide whether the purpose of our education system is to 1) teach material and measure learning 2) reward students who work hard 3) separate the smart kids (destined for smart guy jobs) from the dumb kids (destined to serve the smart guys)

This new asylum policy from labour is vile and betrays labour values. It ignores the reality of refugee peoples’ lives, aspirations, families… it betrays our obligations to help the most vulnerable and IT WILL NOT DETER SMALL BOATS.

It’s a grim day.

Caerffili was welcome but not a brilliant bellwether for May. I do not doubt Wales will suffer much ugliness in the years that follow. It takes a village to burn down a village.

Reform lost by 11% in Caerphilly - because of a surge in turnout, because Reform looked set to win the seat.

This illustrates Reform's vulnerability *because* they are leading the polls (in a 6 party system) while being an *unpopular* party. A much bigger problem under FPTP 2029 than PR 2026

it feels in some way like i've read this story a million times. because it is how almost every specops mission fails.
This story is WILD. Trump sent Seal Team 6 into North Korea to plant a listening device. The entire thing went sideways within minutes of landing when they noticed a fishing boat near the beach. They killed everyone on board, sunk the bodies to cover their tracks, and fled. Congress was never told.

Yes! Social statistics are best when they enable people to represent their lives and advocate for themselves, not when they seek the perfect master number. Wellbeing statistics should not be treated as the latter any more than GDP.

It is beyond sickening to me the extent to which the press in this country are determined to conjure up fascist violence. They are like puerile voyeurs, handwringing and squirming with erotic glee at the prospect.
