I'm...

New to these Bluesky streets.

Learning how to advocate for folks with autism, ADHD, Complex PTSD.

An empath but don't mistake my kindness for weakness.
The issue is using image-generation models for diagrams rather than having LLMs write diagram code.

This critique is really a tool-selection problem disguised as a capability problem.

Have LLM write mermaid or graphviz syntax, iterate on the logic, and you're good
ppl should stop using ai-generated diagrams. you know i’m not anti-ai but they’re just not good at this yet!

the problem is that diagrams have a very specific purpose: they’re meant to compress understanding into few key bits. ai vomits out poor approximations that aren’t conceptually compressed
this is why you use SVG, mermaid graph syntax, etc - what are they doing over there, don't use nanobanana for this kinda thing

agree with this (hah) but also think a particular mistake the left made for a long time online, and still makes to an extent, is failing to understand that the person whose mind you may actually change is the one reading the argument you're having, not the one you're arguing with
The secret to engaging in social media debate is knowing you will never win anyone over. The best you can hope for is to have people who already agree with tell you you're awesome. You might great a dopamine thrill from the righteousness of your anger! Fine benefits, all. But you will never win.

Lol they're such narcissists
I still don't get it. An AI company bought up all the ram to fuck us all?

Anti-AI zealots proudly showing how little they know about AI remind me a lot of religious zealots proudly showing how little they know about science.

But it works for both of them because they're all really just seeking validation from their echo chamber.
Because producing music is about left turns and breaking new ground, creating a sound you hear in your head that you need to get out.

AI is pushing the demo button on a Casio keyboard.
What do we think about the assertion in this meme? I know, we think it's asinine, but I'm looking for specific arguments as to why it's asinine.

When you find out you’re autistic later in life, all of a sudden so many things make sense, but you still have all of this conditioning from a lifetime of believing that you were broken, or terrible at being a person, or all sorts of stories that we told ourselves.

If you're looking to honour Robert Duvall, check out the Twilight Zone episode "Miniature". He plays a man recently released from hospital, who becomes enamoured by a doll house and its inhabitant. Some suggest his character is autistic, and is portrayed so sensitively. Poignant and one of the best.

Nine years ago, after being diagnosed as Autistic at 29, I unknowingly began a healing and shadow work journey that would change how I saw myself and my life.

Later, I was also diagnosed with ADHD, further shaping my worldview.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but listening to an audio book absolutely counts as “reading” a book.

In fact, I’d argue that listening to an author read their own work aloud is an exceptionally magical and even holy experience.

I love it so much. Especially as my eyesight gets worse.

Anti-AI folks are really just constitutionally incapable of admitting that LLM tools are incredibly good at so much already and are taking leaps and bounds every 2-3 months in areas they're not.

Once they do, the anti-AI zealots move on to something else to whine about. Incredibly unserious folks
Unless part of the code you ask it to generate has an LLM call in it, then there should be no chance at hallucinations once you verify the code is working and does what it’s supposed to. It’s just regular code, no AI is at use anymore! I think people are missing this part.

Anti-AI folks really are just the newest form of zealot.

The deeper they go, the more tragiclownish and extremist their thought processes become.

This is a classic extremist-minded dualistic construct.

Truly fascinating and lamentable to see what seems a perfectly normal person spiral like that
…or you accept that you are prepared to risk being the people who incepted, recklessly experimented on, and purported to own a new class of human-like intelligence. At best, you’re claiming a right to enserf this thing you’ve made.

Or it’s pure, stupid hype.

Ho. Ly. Shit.
About one of the Trump accusers in this piece:

“The interview [with the alleged victim and her attorney] was conducted July 24, 2019, and entered into the FBI’s case files on August 9, the day before Epstein was found dead in his jail cell.”
Hey everyone. Potentially the biggest story in the country, right here. substack.com/home/post/p-...

Preach!
this is where i remind everyone in a room of pasty male governors when the bully in chief zeroed in on Janet Mills she said fuck you and defended trans girls. took him to court. won.

people say they want fighters against this regime. then vote for the ones who show they will.

These people have no idea what they're talking about, and it's scary how much damage they're going to cause neurodivergent and disabled students.

LLMs are more perfectly aligned with the social model of disability and than any other assistive tool.

Artists, creators, and designers are the ones who are using AI tools to create things like logos and infographics or whatever for companies.

Most folks aren't going to lose their jobs to AI tools... they're going to lose their jobs to people who know how to use AI tools better than they do.
You are building a brand identity so you can be identified, you are building a site for the user experience and to draw people in... You shouldn't just be making this stuff because you "need" to make them.

Artist, creators and designers can give their work purpose, tools can't.

The logical inconsistencies of anti ai arguments are so interesting to me.

They talk about users and skilled laborers as though they're not the same people.

They cannot possibly believe that the business plans are centered around executives doing all the work.

Right?
the program can "do the majority of the work for you" (companies like Wix and Square have been created to do the same thing).
Ultimately, the goal hasn't been making it easier for the users, it's been setting it up so that the programs replace actual skilled laborers, similar to how they now...

I genuinely wonder if I'm this confidently wrong about things.

I mean, this guy is 100% certain about his market analysis and genuinely believes he understands AI-related sector dynamics.

Of course he also reveals the willful ignorance common amongst all extremist-minded folks.
I'll admit I quit reading after "the genie can't be put back inside the bottle." In the case of ai, the genie costs tens of billions a year while granting wishes that produce a couple million in profit annually. So no, it is only with great effort and expense that this genie can survive at all.

I don't get this at all. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong - and it doesn't matter what search engine was used to find the evidence that I'm wrong.
I just blocked somebody for using ChatGPT to contradict me. You want to contradict me with legit sources? Fine. But don’t use that fucking AI bullshit.

Whew, is @stephenharrison.com just the quintessential example of how anti-AI zealotry leads an otherwise decent human to become a rank, shameless ableist POS.

This is a perfect example of how my almost complete autistic lack of cognitive empathy leaves me vulnerable to evil-minded little sh!ts.

I just really don't have the ability to infer hidden mental states - especially when they're duplicitous, malicious, and manipulative like this.

ADHD Wolf wants some guidance, a topic and figures out the rest on its own. Is it perfect? No. But it's always good enough and it's fun to do.

And Autist Wolf needs to shut the hell up when it comes to creative processes.

I've always believed that ADHD, autism, and PTSD / Complex PTSD all share neurological something.

The comorbidity rates are just too stark to not recognize this reality.
#Integrin α3 is implicated in #ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

A study in Molecular Psychiatry identifies hippocampal AMPAR regulation as a key pathway through which ITGA3 influences ADHD-related phenotypes.

Anti-AI propaganda is so MAGA-like in its blatant dishonesty and undertones of rank bigotry.

I wonder how many disabled folks choose to not use AI assistive tools that can make their lives so much better because they're scared of being targeted by these people.
