One thing that all 3 of these shows have in common (besides being v good) is that I sobbed through each of them. I wonder why 🙃
Liberation is fantastic. So were Suffs and John Proctor is the Villain. There’s been a wild explosion of electric feminist theater in varied tones, exploring multiple eras & I don’t think it’s been recognized enough! (PS still annoyed at how little Suffs got celebrated)

This chrome AI button has been driving me crazy but the instructions below worked!!
hey I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere but - if you're using Chrome and you don't want this gross little AI Mode button to pop up in your address bar, paste "chrome://flags" into your address bar and search the flags for "AI Mode." find "AI Mode Omnibox Entrypoint" then you can just disable it!

The first 20 minutes of last night’s Task (on HBO) were fantastic - tense, propulsive, very complicated but you never get lost or confused, and also it managed to pay off character moments they’ve been planting for the entire series. The show overall is not top-tier HBO but those 20 minutes were.

Agreed!!! Sorry if this take is too HOT!
I watched the Oceans films with my son recently and they all rule, but I think Oceans Twelve is my favorite one.

I’m re-reading the Book of Dust books in preparation for book 3 coming soon, and I have to say for the millionth time Philip Pullman is an observant, fearless genius. Maybe my favorite writer.

People sometimes ask how I keep up with so much tv and a lot of it has been training from years and years of reading Alan. Worth a subscription!
Some news: yesterday was my last at Rolling Stone. For now, I'm going solo, doing all my TV reviewing, recapping, etc., at my newsletter. I hope you'll consider subscribing. Many more details here:

Hey I’m in this piece! And happy on sale day to BONES AND BERSERKERS!
13 years after the debut of Nathan Hale’s ‘Hazardous Tales,’ the author-illustrator has added volume 13 to the series with graphic novel anthology ‘Bones and Berserkers: 13 True Tales of Terror from American History’
Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales Adds Lucky #13
With good reason, Nathan Hale could refute the age-old superstition that the number 13 portends bad luck. Thirteen years after the debut of Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales, the author-illustrator has...

As a potential member of this class, I am highly skeptical that this settlement could be anywhere near high enough. If I get $5 venmoed to me in a year I’ll be pissed!
NEW: A major AI copyright legal showdown just took a huge twist today. Facing a class action on behalf of book authors that could've seen it pay over a TRILLION in damages for alleged piracy, Anthropic has agreed to settle instead: www.wired.com/story/anthro...
Anthropic Settles High-Profile AI Copyright Lawsuit Brought By Book Authors
Anthropic faced the prospect of more than $1 trillion in damages, a sum that could have threatened the company’s survival if the case went to trial.

The wild thing is that if you read Neil Strauss’s The Game (I did, ama) this is the secret point: “pick up” “artistry” is just a bunch of nerd hacks for making yourself a more interesting/less desperate/accidentally better person
As a person on the “left” I propose that if men want to fuck they should work on being fuckable
The left is completely silent on the subject of men getting laid - which, generally speaking, they are v.interested in doing and will continue to be interested in regardless of whether progressives want to talk about it. So the stage has been left entirely clear for the far-right.

I’ve been meaning to come on here and say this very thing. What a great show!
"Adults" on FX is hilarious. I just finished the first season, and there should have been three times as many episodes. We need more episodes of comedies!
