why is the left so disorganized these days? partly bc many leftists are cliquey, extremely online, and culturally disconnected from regular people. (I don’t mean leftists struggle to talk to MAGA racists - who are ungettable anyway - I mean leftists can’t talk to liberals who like “normie” tv shows)

so it’s incredibly uncommon for movies/tv shows to lead directly to social change in any direction (and it’s not their job to do so!) Brokeback Mountain and Will & Grace are often credited with greater social acceptance of gay people, but that was already happening in the culture writ large

2025 was one of the worst years of my life, I lost my job of 16 years in February (I'm still looking for a new one, if you know of any design/comms jobs), so while 2025 still sucks, my art has gotten a chance to grow and for that, I am incredibly grateful for the time #ArtvsArtist #ArtvsArtist2025

seeing another round of “why can’t white men get published/get media jobs” and:
1) they still often can
2) all the money has leeched out of the field, this is now feminized/minoritized territory. very few people are getting paid enough to live. the days of sinecures and easy handouts are over
