I talk a lot about MCAS and TTRPGs.
Canadian-Australian living in Alberta.
Probably won't follow you if you're American. I get enough of that on every other social platform.
Occasional Christian-posting. Occasional Ace-posting.

Just putting this out there, I want to teach people how to sew (via video call) this year, if you want sewing support let's chat!

I have a degree in Apparel Technology, and I need a way to support myself that doesn't exacerbate my MCAS, online sewing coaching is something I'd LOVE to do.

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Because of a lot of prominent nondriver activists are people who do it by choice, there is sometimes a skewed perception of the sort of people who would benefit from bike lanes and more sidewalks.

but car centric infrastructure hurts disabled people, children, and people living in poverty the most

I also asked this on Facebook and OH LORDY THE AMATONORMATIVITY.
Ok question for people familiar with evangelicalism, what are reasons for saving sex for marriage that DON'T ultimately come back to the answer "because God said so"?

I'm lucky in that while I was once down to literally only 3 safe foods (white rice, chicken, kale)--which took me 3 weeks and 15 lost lbs subsisting on multivitamins and broth to even figure out--I'm now up to "just" a strict low histamine diet.

But this is why we tell you to protect yourself--
So I try not to give too many gory details about life with long covid, but I also think it’s important to give a clear picture of what can happen to anyone.

Over the last yearish, I’ve become allergic to more than 70 foods. Today I lost soy. I’m not how long I can keep eating at all.

MOOD.
No no it’s good that we have winter I’m happy that it’s cold. If I was wearing shorts right now that would be bad because, you know, climate change. I’m always talking about stopping climate change, of course, so I’m pleased that I’m frozen.

Speaking of bits, and powers of two, and coincidences.

Me, an XX/XY chimera - born on July 14.

128 days before July 14 is March 8th.
128 days after July 14 is November 19th.

Now go look up the international days on those dates.

Asking anyone who's got energy to do so to call their Dem Senators and urge them not to back down on healthcare. 🙏

Your friends who are too sick to work to access healthcare are going to be really fucked otherwise. Being too sick to work means no paycheck to cover now-exorbitant marketplace plans.

“Why does this church partner with another organisation to support unhoused ppl instead of opening their own doors?”

because that church has century old plumbing and half a working toilet, the community space has a boiler and showers, next question

Every few months a car hits this concrete barrier at 109 st and 100 Ave in #YEG hard enough to move it into the bike lane. About 50% of cars ignore the "no right on red" sign and in 8 months I've almost been hit at least 5 times. This is why paint is never enough. #yegBike

I have "a cold" but it is a) extremely mild, b) gets better when I take antihistamines and c) my symptoms are primarily low grade aches/fever and the tiniest bit of congestion, which is not normal for a cold—so I suspect it's a mild case of COVID. I have no way to test for sure though.

Does anybody have tips for how to deal with motion sickness AFTER you get motion sick and are away from the car / spinning / whatever? Like first aid for motion sickness.

I don't want tips to prevent it, I want tips for how to come out of it once the trigger is gone but I'm still feeling GROSS.

It IS too early for Christmas advertising (exceptions for handicraft suppliers, 'cause you need time to make the gifts), but do what you personally want for decorating.
“It’s too early in the year to -“

It’s a plastic Grinch and a fake tree babe, there is no sacred transition in the Gregorian calendar marking when I can look at them

cw food, maybe disordered eating?

It's so hard for me to get food in my body 'cause ADHD and all the executive functioning involved plus some MCAS food restrictions, so when something piques my interest (the Snack Button) I LISTEN.
It's pineapple flavoured yogurt and I am SO CURIOUS. Yogurt has way more interesting flavours now than when I was a kid.

It's not lactose-free, but it hit the Snack Button in my brain and I gotta listen when a food hits the Snack Button.

Love to get the fancy $8 yogurt for 50% off because it's two days away from the best before. As a girl who regularly gets yogurt from the food rescue that's weeks past its best before, I know that yogurt is FINE if it's still sealed, and the seal isn't bulging.
