For those new to Bluesky, hi! I don't really know what I'm doing in life, but I have written articles about air accidents. This article is part one of five on the topic of how the TSB of Canada became the organization it is today.

This is the most Canadian "man hijacks bus" story ever.

He contined to make stops and enforced the fare, and when police caught up to him they deescalated the situation and didn't identify the guy because “there could be a mental health component..."
When a man hijacked a bus in Hamilton, Ontario, on Tuesday, the potentially catastrophic scenario ended happily. It turns out he was a pretty decent bus driver. He made regular stops to pick up passengers, the police reported. At one point someone tried to board with an expired bus pass. No dice.
A Man Took a Bus for a Joyride. Turns Out, He’s Not a Bad Driver.
The incident in Hamilton, Ontario, ended safely with an arrest and no injuries (and all fares paid).

Rumors that UPS MD11 fleet has been grounded are currently supported by ADSB and schedule data; no brown MD11s are flying at the moment - at least six should be airborne to SDF from SJU, TPA, MIA, DFW, MIA, and MSP right now.

My thoughts are with the victims of today's UPS plane crash, but they are also with the NTSB investigators who, tomorrow, will dig through half a mile of toxic debris to find the black boxes, all without being paid. Godspeed to them as well.

My paranoia about the NTSB accident investigations increases everyday.

The tedious work of getting what I need - without losing my mind and downloading everything - is a definite strain.
Historians and researchers, you must prepare for this eventuality online. Some stuff will go away.

Less likely; but I predict it'll happen – anything in physical govt archives that touches upon currently contentious matters could be made inaccessible. Create high quality copies of crucial docs.
This moment is disturbing even in the mundane: I’ve started taking screenshots of historical sources I’m using in research from the national park service, the smithsonian, and the national archives, just in case they get taken down. It’s now a part of my process and takes time I have to plan for.
