This is the way
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

Every. Single. One.
Every one of the factors that now convince him Trump is fascist was present in the first term (even if unsuccessful). Lots of folks who accurately described Trump as fascist were called unserious. I'ed much rather someone admit why they were wrong (left-punching, bias, etc.) than this. Gift link
Yes, It’s Fascism
Until recently, I thought it a term best avoided. But now, the resemblances are too many and too strong to deny.

Conservatives also got big mad that one of the guys who took over the govt building at the bird sanctuary in Oregon got killed fleeing. They literally held a federal building by force, armed to the teeth, for a month. And yet I am supposed to believe that these very normal people in MN are threats?

The message has always been: It’s okay when white supremacists do it.Letting the Bundy’s getaway with their stand off encouraged domestic terrorists. During the Obama years membership in hate groups skyrocketed. It seems the FBI can’t investigate pedophiles or domestic terrorists.

Remember the Bundy insanity during the Obama years? Armed guys occupied a federal office and one of their buddies took position with a sniper rifle aimed at federal agents?

Exactly how many of those guys were shot and killed?

Two women trained as first responders were abducted by three ICE agents. One of the agents starts seizing. The other two don’t know what to do. The women jump into action and save the agent’s life, only to be re-handcuffed and processed.

Detained by ICE, two women became first responders during agent’s seizure
The women say they guided agents through the emergency, later raising concerns about medical protocols, weapons safety and accountability.

One of the reasons I am less pessimistic about the End Of All Things in 🇺🇸 foreign policy & world politics than many of my peers is that the there soon will be a generation of 🇺🇸 voters & leaders whose core foundational beliefs are that fascism, isolationism, & mercantilism are No Good & Very Bad.
The political socialization literature suggests that the present moment is likely to have enormous impact on the political views of young people for decades to come.

Senate Dems needn’t come to agreement on everything right now. That’s a path to the lowest common denominator. They simply have to agree to filibuster DHS approps. As to which of a host of anti-brutality and anti-authoritarian proposals to advance, let a thousand flowers bloom.

Yes, the GOP controls Congress. That's why it's key to show Congress COULD stop the madness. And it's not just the DHS bill. Congress could repeal the prior multi-year $75b for DHS; set up a special investigative committee (cf. Watergate); amend the Insurrection Act; etc.

Hey, turns out Pretti WAS a Boy Scout!
I would like to add that Pretti seems to have been the model of the classical, preMAGA distortion, of masculine virtue. The kind of masculinity that the pre-pedo Boy Scouts used to teach. Being a protector.

Saying there must be trials isn't just an emotive aspiration.

Congress can:
- Create a new court (complying w/ 6A jury vicinage)
- Give it jurisdiction over defined category of crimes
- Also create dedicated prosecutors for the same
- Strip SCOTUS of appellate jurisdiction

It can be done.

The Washington Post published a clear video of federal agents removing Alex Pretti's handgun moments before he was fatally shot. There's nothing in the video to suggest Pretti even reached for his weapon.
