All phenomena are fleeting. He/him. For those who don't know me from other social media sites: Waffles (Waf) is the name of our dog, not the name of my husband. [Update: Waf was. Marlowe is now our dog's name, not my husband's. Waf is now a name for love.]
And then let Spielberg take over Kubrick's passion project 'AI: Artificial Intelligence' which warns about... something something technology and what it might do to us.
One of the funniest conspiracy theories is that Kubrick was killed for Eyes Wide Shut but at the same time they were like "well he worked really hard on this, only fair to give it a wide release"

So apparently I was right to shittalk m00t this week because it's been revealed that his boneheaded decision to establish /pol/ and subsequently ruin the website was allegedly born out of a one-on-one meeting with Jeffery Epstein.

Please stop posting how many seats for Melania are selling in your local theaters. You're just encouraging a lot of stoned people to impulse-buy.

I wasn't a huge fan of 'The Studio' but the episode 'The Oner' was catnip to me because I love extended shots. And Catherine O'Hara was the best thing about it--her posture while holding purse straps like a goose neck is even funny.

You can read the mini-thread this is from, but I am serious. Melania is all spindly lines and thin ovals, and blots of color in absences of space. The only thing that differs is that Miro used warm colors, mostly, and Melania conveys a more, shall we say, inhospitable palatte.
Now occurs to me that Melania looks like a Joan Miro painting run through AI and 3D printed as a human.

Honestly thought this was in reference to a sequel to Speed I'd missed.

I always liked Catherine O'Hara growing up, but did not fall madly in love with her until Waiting for Guffman. It never seemed to me she disappeared into her characters, but brought out parts of herself to realize them. And she *could* sing but by god her flat 'Midnite at the Oasis' delivery yikes.

Honestly, a documentary about height variations within one family could be quirky enough to be interesting. Not with THIS family, mind, but I've seen documentaries with weirder concepts that ended up being fascinating.

They'll recreate the route Robert Novak took when he drove through town with a dazed cyclist on the hood of his car.

Most people just bring a bottle of wine.
The Commerce Secretary brought his kids to party with a pedophile
But the new Epstein files show a series of subsequent interactions. That included this email from Lutnick about bringing his family and others to visit Epstein at his private island, Little St. James.

Ok so like stop fucking funding ICE even as a stop-gap. The two-week deal was 50/50 for me in that I could see buying two weeks meant either ICE would need to be squeaky clean or else even MORE hated by the next funding vote. They're more hated after less than a day. Shut it all down.
BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.

Plans for such centers and jails in nearly two dozen communities have sparked protests over suitability, proximity to homes and schools.

Not just Don Lemon
journalist georgia fort was arrested by the feds this morning for filming the church protest in st. paul where an ICE agent is the pastor. nekima levy-armstrong and chauntyll allen were already arrested for organizing it

So like Trump let DOGE get all our info and he's trying to make a legal argument his own info was leaked? Get the fuck out of here.

Ok, I get the criticism, and he will probably fold anyway, but giving Trump and ICE two weeks to make themselves even more of an issue *could* pay off in the end for the anti-ICE movement. Ice itself is more popular right now than ICE.
Q: So you're not pulling back in Minnesota?

TRUMP: No no. Not at all.
