All phenomena are fleeting. He/him. For those who don't know me from other social media sites: Waffles (Waf) is the name of our dog, not the name of my husband. [Update: Waf was. Marlowe is now our dog's name, not my husband's. Waf is now a name for love.]
To be fair, Signal improved there when Hegseth came to DC.

Schumer: I was so disappointed Susan Collins had to lend me her fainting couch.
Warner: "Nothing would lead to the absolute destruction of NATO more than US aggressive action against a longtime ally like Denmark"

Schumer: "I asked for assurances that they were not planning operations in other countries like Colombia and Cuba, and I was very very disappointed in their answer"

I've watched thousands of videos from the Jan. 6 riot as part of NPR's reporting and archive project on that day.

Here are some of the lesser known videos that have really stuck with me.

I don't think I'd ever watched 'Sleeping Beauty' as an adult until a few years ago. It's is a gorgeous film, perhaps one of the most gorgeous movies Disney's done. Sure, it has Disney-issues where they either reuse layouts or else layouts were reused later (not an expert on Disney!) but still...
For Epiphany, this glorious 1966 illustration of the Three Kings by the great Eyvind Earle (1916 - 2000), best remembered for his enormous contribution to Disney Animation's visual style during the 1950s, particularly Sleeping Beauty (1959).

I was watching MSNBC while scrolling Twitter on J6 and it was weird to watch the insurrection unfolding while on MSNBC they were replaying Mitch McConnell's speech and lauding him for expressing comity and dedication to duty. Literally while the Capitol was being breached.

I don't mean to keep making Broadcast News references, but this really does seem as if the William Hurt character and the Albert Brooks character got combined and put on air with a very drunk and perhaps comatose Holly Hunter character producing.
"First day... first day, big problems here. Uh, are we going to Kelly here or are we gonna go..."

Reading the trivia for John Wick and what gets me is not this bit of trivia but how many have done a thumbs-down for it. Nice, man. Very nice. No one touch go near this.

He is. Miller is. It's Miller time sort of weakness. But he's still spouting his poison in the president's ear, and the president has the nukes, and no matter how weak he seems: He still has the ear of a guy who can blow up the world.
this is small comfort given he has state power and i don’t but i am struck by what an obviously weak and fragile man miller is. a blubbering piss baby whose entire affect and personality is an attempt to make up for his profound feelings of inadequacy
MILLER: The US is using its military to secure our interests unapologetically in our hemisphere. We're a superpower. It's absurd we'd allow a nation in our backyard to become a supplier of resources to our adversaries

TAPPER: Sovereign countries shouldn't be able to do what they want?

Someone mentioned how the J. Peterman catalog is a nightmare of racism and whiteness, so I went to their wiki page and.... wow, it's a read better than the actual catalog. John O'Hurley helped buy back the company? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Pete...

Oh I hope it's gonna be that the NHL is going all-in on 'Heated Rivalry' and host a hockey orgy-on-ice under the stars. www.tampabay.com/sports/light...
Stadium Series presentation will be unlike any other NHL outdoor game
The league will lean heavily into a Gasparilla theme, and the field setup won’t be complete until just before puck drop.

Is there a way to, like, Harrison Bergeron our leaping dog? The more exited he gets, the more haphazard and leapy he gets--he jumped almost up to my chin today when I got home from work. I appreciate the wild greeting! But I'm also concerned he's gonna injure himself. Good enthusiasm but jfc.

I'm not familiar with this guy but it's like they took the hair of Robert Redford, the eyes of George Clooney, and set them on top of the mouth and chin of a de-syphilitized Steve Bannon.
A key figure with the false conspiracy theory connecting Venezuela to false claims of 2020 election fraud has been conspiracy theorist Patrick Byrne.

In October, Byrne on a podcast said "there’s never been as necessary a war since the Civil War, that we go down & take care of Venezuela."
