Three things to bear in mind in #Edinburgh tram extension debate: (i) trams have much greater capacity + are more efficient + reliable than buses in any form; (ii) Orchard Brae was never a serious alternative; (iii) Roseburn retains cycling/walking wheeling.

You can’t afford a coal mine.

You can’t afford a gas turbine.

You can’t afford an oil rig.

Only fossil fuel states and billionaires can.

But you can afford a solar power station on your roof.

Now, ask yourself why you encounter so much anti-renewable energy propaganda.

I hereby declare war on premature Christmassing.

Any shop caught doing this before 1st December must be shut down and turned into affordable housing.

Choose sanity. Vote Binface.

We just walked the dog and it looked like rain so I grabbed the big golfing brolly we keep by the back door. It hasn't been used in months and months.

The dog keeps going a bit mad, trying to grab the brolly off me.

No idea why, stupid hound.

Starlink should be banned from European markets on national security grounds.

Anything requiring Starlink should be shut out of the European market, and sanctions should be considered against all relevant actors.

The problem with liberalism is that it sits around waiting for extremists to cut its throat. Musk is clearly using Twitter to undermine European democracies, so Europe should pull the plug on it. Who gives a shit if he wails about freedom of speech. Geo-block it in Europe and tell him to get fucked.

I’m absolutely delighted the Leith Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) has been made permanent today. This is the right decision for Leith, and will help to lock in the traffic reductions, safer streets and cleaner air that this scheme has already delivered.

This time tomorrow the council's TRO sub-committee will meet to decide the future of the Leith LTN.

If you don't want to lose the safer streets, please contact your councillors now to tell them how much it means to you.

I have a motion at #Edinburgh Council on Thursday to discontinue council’s use of X / twitter.

Two reasons:

Firstly, X has become increasingly lawless, a place of abuse & vitriol - members of the public shouldn’t need to engage with this to read council updates or report issues to the council.
