Drew a self portrait in an unsuccessful attempt to keep my head out of the news by drawing over a photograph. At least I got a picture out of it. Maybe I should try pixelling over other photos for practice...

I switched to linux in 2012 and never looked back. Slipstream was 100% made on linux, with FOSS tools (gimp, blender, krita, libgdx, FNA)

for godot users this is a no-brainer, godot is pretty much linux-native, but I think all the other major and medium-sized engines also have good linux support
You asked and you shall receive! Now you better watch it cause it took me two days to make this! (unless you're really enjoying Windows 11)

How to switch to Linux as a gamedev?

I have always said it, I will continue to say it, we are limiting the productive potential of millions of freaks by demanding they earn a wage to survive instead of enabling them to do whatever thing their brain is broken for

the entire ecosystem of being an artist online sucks and i would really like it for the concept of an "app" to simply cease existing because it is wholly responsible for making all of this shit impossible. nobody wants users leaving their app, ever. everyone is trapped, everyone needs a cut. argh.

...What’s turned me off isn’t the increasingly shitty software or the endless price hikes. It’s Apple’s gross collaboration with the Trump regime.

I thought the worst so far was their public donation to build the Orange Czar’s new ballroom.

But it wasn't...
I might be done paying Tim Apple.
I know they don't need my money, but I need my self-respect.

Bing has blocked neocities and all user subdomains from its search index.

We’ve spent months trying to resolve this through official channels and gotten nowhere.

Until this gets resolved, we are recommending that people do not use Bing.

I do think there one key difference here: the console wars of the 90s didn't have whole ass cottage industry tied up in independent social media shitheads incentivized to turn the whole thing into a mini day time talk going show.
The console wars... So easily forgotten... Pretending like the rise of haters is some new invention and the entirety of late 2000s early 2010s video game discourse wasn't coming up with new compound slurs to describe the people who bought a different toy than you is revisionism at its finest

it is the same playbook everywhere. “vote for us! we will make you great again by punishing the people you hate! do not pay attention to the fact that we’re also shoveling your money into the pockets of the uber wealthy and building a giant boot to step on your face too (preferably forever)”
The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.
