Frankly I don't think the entirety of the Frankford School are CIA plants. Marcuse, Adorno etc are a lot of things but their work is too idiosyncratic to be mere propaganda even if they did take covert financing.

It's a shame that John H Davis didn't write more books. I'm reading Mafia Kingfish and it is beautifully written. His books on the mob are deeply researched and as atmospheric as fiction.
