Oh you mean the society built from rotten values scabbed together from the racist oppression tactics deployed to keep working people under the boot is collapsing SHOCKING

The montage that just sped through my head after reading this
I think any story about Trump's autocracy should be mostly about the people and institutions who failed to stop it. This guy isn't a political genius, everything else just happens to be rotten. 'Toddler Consolidates Power In Household' is a story about incompetent parents, not shrewd maneuvering

I love a disembler. An obfuscator. A whole truth buried in a half lie.

A sneaky little bastard scratching their way towards meaning.

Show me the edge of this
and everytime

I will push you just a little further towards the dissonant sounds of your dissolving self.

Zohran Mamdani caught lying that he understood Plato’s allegory of the cave, yet when asked to explain it, he seemed to instead explain Baudrillard’s theory of Simulacra and Simulation where reality has been replaced by symbols and signs, which seems similar to Plato’s theory but is not the same

Foolproof (tested by fools)
I've built a socioeconomic system that depends on everyone to do useful work and act ethically except the people at the top, who get unimaginable rewards for being antisocial frauds and criminals. And I think it will stand the test of time

My resistance continues to be in repair and maintenance and local living. What started as disillusionment morphed into an operable worldview and I'm grateful for that.

People talk about 90s optimism and I just. Did not experience that. I learned about plastic at 10 yo, taking 1000s of years to decompose and knew we were culturally over. I could not unsee the selfish and short-sighted attitude underpinning everything and it affected me so profoundly. For good.

Women's work, to be sure
"Nearly everyone involved in this effort is a woman: the work of finding missing family members, like many other forms of labor for incarcerated people, is largely carried by women."

I think the deep irony that training a populace to not recognize when their country is doing coups has lead to a populace that cannot recognize when a coup was done to them is a little too rich.
