Looks like the pothole killing machine is making its first visit to Longstone. Hopefully not it’s last.

Would you like to put a poster up in your area to raise awareness about #WoodBurning?

We've got some left from our Clean Air Night campaign and would hate for them to go to waste. For more info and to order: bit.ly/m4l-canposte...

Works began on safety improvements at Longstone Primary and Redhall School’s shared entrance. Many children cross here through taxis, school staff, PHCs, and minibuses at pick up/drop off time. Pedestrians are to be prioritised here in accordance with the transport hierarchy. 👍

What a glorious day for the Edinburgh Disc Golf Community to be installing the new Disk Golf baskets all ready for the rest of the course to be finished soon.
Great to see another sport using our local parks.
What about a Community Council VS Edinburgh Disk golf match?! 🥏⛳

Watching a parent drive along the school street both hands on mobile phone texting. Extremely poor. Akin to drink driving. Don’t do it. Also shouldn’t even be driving on the school street when children are leaving.

All the different types of rain this morning for our volunteers.

A positive session though working on the paths to improve drainage and widen them.

While Kingsknowe Road North is closed this is where the @lothianbuses.bsky.social #20 bus will be diverting instead.

Kingsknowe Road North definately closed to vehicles now. Pedestrians can still pass. You could push your bike past too. Table to be raised over next couple of days. 👍

We’d like to hear from communities across the city about neighbourhoods they would like to be considered for firework control zones next November. FCZs are for private spaces such as gardens. These zones help reduce noise, stress and littering caused by fireworks.

Confirmation that Kingsknowe Road North closed to vehicles, Wed,Thurs,Fri this week as they complete safety improvements on this key route to Longstone Primary and Hailes Quarry Park. 👍

We're training with Living Memory Association soon on capturing local people's 'living memories'. A new project this year made possible with a small community grant. Great podcast made from the living memories of Akbal Singh and Jagdish Kaur who ran a well known newsagent's shop in Longstone.

Wow thanks so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. This is a much loved connection to our neighbours which has been neglected apart from Peter’s heroic solo efforts. Massive difference for local users. ❤️
Another volunteer session on the Burnside path at Longstone.

Lots of dedication from the team to widen the path, clear debris and clean up the local area.

This is why the regular engine idling from drivers at school pick up and drop off should not be happening. You might be keeping warm, but at what cost to all the other children who get the pleasure of breathing it in as they walk to school. Especially bad for young lungs. Please don't do it. 🙏

We'll have some of that action. Kingsknowe Road North is appallingly narrow in sections. Very busy road, key route to local shops, schools, church, & park. Can't walk side by side with children, pets and that's before you factor in poorly maintained hedges.

This is such an important upgrade! Wider (and smoother) pavements make a huge difference for people walking and wheeling to school, work, shopping and also for bus users!

#GilmorePlace
LSEG were delighted to see a horribly narrow pavement widened as part of the Gilmore Place roadworks.👏

This is needed across the city - We urge Edinburgh Council
to invest more £££ into the footway maintenance budget in the coming year !

Do you have a narrow pavement near you that needs widened ?

We got a response from Dave, director of the Redpath & McLean car dealership on Longstone Rd after residents had contacted us about being blinded by the new lights, particularly turning into Redhall Avenue. Others were concerned how much of the Water of Leith was being lit up at night.
