On today's World Day of Remembrance for Road Victims it is worth noting that in the two years since Wales implemented a national default 20mph (32km/h) there have been 25% fewer casualties on such roads with over 1,000 fewer people killed or injured. youtu.be/efr3uVKpOwY

In few other northern European cities would vehicles be allowed to mix unrestricted with so many intoxicated pedestrians on a street with really poor pavements.

If this was a rockfall on Arthur’s Seat or a toppled chimney, would the street have had some mitigations by now? 😔

Public transport rarely stops outside your home or final destination. The first and last mile walking or cycling is so much more pleasant, quieter and safer with a default urban/village 20mph limit.
#20splenty for less noise, cheaper insurance premiums and 25% fewer people killed or injured.

Work has been ongoing at the George IV Bridge, Edinburgh for approaching 5 years. Recent research by the Edinburgh Inquirer suggests that external construction work could be complete by March 2026.
